Just wondering (assuming at least we get the left back and at least one winger as everyone predicts in addition to Henderson) what the core league squd will be and who people think will be sold / loaned?

I think most predict poulsen, konches, jova and the Greek will be gone, maybe cole... But will shelvey, Wilson and flannagan get games or will we loan them? I can see a few guys who got played regularly last season struggling to get a game this time round...

No chance of John Flanagan being loaned out.Its all about 25 man squads now.

I reckon we'll see some of the current reserves/Academy loaned out, but the current squad will stay in my opinion.

Flannagan wouldn't count tho would he as he's under the age bracket anyway? I feel a lot of this talent is wasted in the reserve games and would benefit from a 6m loan and regular games - otherwise they might become disillusioned having made the first team this season and seemingly slipping back... In a way it's a shame not to have Europa to give them a run in

Maybe add Gerrard to that list as well, he's getting quite old now.

Liverpool are in dire need of some fresh talent.

I think that Shelvey and Wilson should go out on loan - would prefer Wilson to join a premiership/championship team rather than Rangers but as long as he is getting games it's all good.

    I'd like to see:

Ayala, Pacheco, Wilson, Robinson and Shelvey sent out on loan to Premier league clubs until January.

If we hit an injury crisis, it's most likely to be in the second half of the season; so we should be alright in depth of squad and I'm sure if you could find the right team that all of those above players would be regulars in the teams.

No to all of the above. We should only be loaning the 17-18 year olds out to teams were they will get 1st team action, no matter what the league. No point sending the kids out to sit on some 1st division sides bench. But the likes of Shelvey and Wilson should now either be in the 1st team/reserves or sold if we don't think they are quite what we need. I don't think it has a positive effect to send the slightly older players out. In the old days we use to bring players in to the reserves for a year, then into the first team, these days, some people have been at the club for 3-4 years without playing for the 1st team. To be here that long and not get to the top must undermine your confidence.

If any of them go,they will be loaned out for experience,Having played for the first team, there is little chance of them going back to the reserves thats unless they are recovering from an injury.
    I'll tell you why.
Some of the older members of the under 18s will graduate to the reserves. Some of the reserves will graduate to the senior set-up.Some of the under 16s will graduate to the under 18s.Its one big conveyor belt.

There's nothing wrong with planning for the future; Welbeck is 20, and before being loaned out wasn't even close to getting a look into the Man Utd squad, now it looks more like he'll go back and fit right in. Sturridge is 21 and has scored 1 goal for Chelsea.

My point being that getting first team action can develop players a hell of a lot better than letting them rot in the reserves for the next few years where they may never get a look in. Shelvey is 19, Wilson is also 19 - they are still classed as young players in my mind. Under the age of 22, and players who are not getting an immediate look in to the first team should be given at least the opportunity to get first team experience on loan.

Take out Flanagan and Robinson as both are still under 21 and add two more and then you're right.
A club can have as many under 21s as they like, and they are not part of the 25 man squad.
