can someone clear up the rules for me on squad limits re foreign players etc as I keep seeing people saying that Chelsea only have room for one more foreign player thanks
I think: 25 max squad size, 17 limit on non-domestic players. So... If we went in for a high profile european midfielder from a rival team in the premier league, we would have to off load one of our non-domestic squad players in order to accomodate them in the team this season. Edit: Just seen your post on the Pato thread about under 21's...so the answer would be then I am not sure...wickipedia awaits... Back in a bit!
from what I can see we currently have a squad of 26 on our website (including Zhirkov) Home grown players over age 21 :- Cole, Lampard, Mikel, JT, Turnbull, Sturridge, Bertrand, PVA (he's actually under 21 but without him we dont have 8) Under 21s that dont count to the 25 rule:- Josh, Oriol (not included in the 26 stated above), Kakuta On this basis it appears to me that we have space for one non-homegrown player already in squad and if Zhirkov goes we have space for 2
