Another random selection Cardiff City XI v THFC: Marshall, Caulker, Turner, Medel, Campbell, Kim, Gunnarsson, Cala, Fabio, Bellamy, John. Subs: Lewis, Jones, Mutch, Cowie, Theophile, Daehli, Zaha
If we get anything at all from this with that totally bizarre lineup, Ole will achieve cult status..... He's certainly being unconventional and looks like a **** or bust lineup to me.
I presume Noone is injured and Mutch isnt 100%. Totally bizarre selection when really we need to start getting a settled side.
Ole's more conventional line ups have failed miserably so he might as well go with something different. Especially in a game we are expected to lose.
Still a bit slack at the back but not a terrible performance so far. Pity about Caulkers header hitting the post.
Weve played ok 1st half. Unlucky to be losing. Declan playing really well. Gunner is having a mare though and needs to be subbed.
Played well and lost. Familiar routine against the better sides in the league. Odds on we **** up against Fulham next week.
Very good game against a very good side - there didn't look to be 15 table positions between us. Having said that, we looked very lightweight up front and that could cost us our Premier League status. Defensively the three at the back worked very well and Medel was another class again today. Gunnar was a mistake, and Kim is not improving - if Gunnar hadn't been so inneffective, I'd have brought Daehli on for him instead. Campbell and Jones? Not sure how they are going to provide the goals we need.
Not sure how anyone is going to provide the goals we need. I can't see us winning more than two more games. We'll probably finish on 30 points. Just not good enough for this league.
Lots to build on , but it's getting late in the building season . Bit surprized at your precarious position at the moment . Survival for Cardiff is critical imo
I thought we played well, watched the whole match down the local, Fabio still a bit of a liability, but that was his best game so far, Gunnar looked out of his depth. We carved them open on more than one occassion and the Spurs crowd were very quiet for most of the game which was testament to how well we played. On the downside Kenwyn Jones and Campbell cant play together, Kenwyn really is a big lump with little skill or knowledge of positioning which when he came on clearly annoyed campbell.
What was frustrating again was Campbell failing to react to a decent header into the danger area by Jones in the Spurs box near the end. Majority of PL strikers would have snared that opportunity. Agree that Gunnarrson was a total liability. He failed time and time again to get into Spurs faces, he had 3 centre backs behind him but just didn't know what position to take up. Going forward he is useless. Kim was again lightweight and out of his depth. How may times did he just fall over? Why did he stay on (to protect Bellamy getting sent off?) Central midfield is a major problem. Has been all season. Mutch and Daehli made little impact. Deserved a point. IMHO its now 2 out of Fulham, City, Palace, WBA, Sunderland & Norwich.
Nin I think you'll find it's 3 goes down not 2. Dont's agree that clubs other than those 6 clubs you mention are out of it either. If Stoke hadn't kicked their way to that win from what was generally a poor Arsenal performance, they be further in the frame than they appear. We have to play them yet at the CCS and that will be a true 6 pointer. Also not convinced about Hull either. Bruce is the one big thing they've got going for them, but he wont be out there kicking the ball. Swansea look to have sufficient skill in the side to pull clear, but that was a shocking performance yesterday - Palace should have won that in the end. For all the ability they have, they look a bit wobbly to me, and this run in is not over for them either, though I think they'll have enough to do it. You can't argue with the table positions and ours is looking pretty grim - beating Fulham is a must to keep at least one club behind us. Then, we've got to find two more that we can put there too. I'll go for West Brom who we still have to play, and Norwich who have a horrendous last 4 games. Brom have Man U home this coming weekend and then Swansea and Hull both away - I reckon they could lose all three of those before we play them. That would be another 6 pointer that could decide it.
