Well that's scuppered any points! I wish our players would shut their gobs, and do their talking on the pitch........
They are not proving they are good as a team though, As individuals they look good on paper but looking good there don't win you games.
There is more pressure on us than on spurs because we are desperate for the points. The way corky talks looks like the team has thrown the towel in before the game starts. The players need to look at the remaining games below and tell us where we are going to get the wins we need as i cant see many.. Swansea's Premier League run-in 28 February: Tottenham (away) Lose 2 March: Arsenal (away)Lose 5 March: Norwich (home) Draw / Win 12 March: Bournemouth (away)Lose/ Draw 19 March: Aston Villa (home) Win 2 April: Stoke (away) Lose 9 April: Chelsea (home) Lose 16 April: Newcastle (away)Lose/Draw 23 April: Leicester (away)Lose 30 April: Liverpool (home)Lose 7 May: West Ham (away)Lose 15 May: Man City (home)Lose Between 8 and 10 points at best going on form..
I'm not sure about Gomis but whoever, we need to defend from the front and press like demons. At least playing with Monty and Barrow we could actually try and break with some pace and get early balls in to the striker(s). A few early runs at the defence would also give them something to think about. The worst thing that could happen is we're pegged back in our half for 90+ minutes, desperately trying to hang on and with zero confidence to keep possession. I'd love to see us actually have a go, within reason. At least show some attacking intent. That could still give us some confidence going forward, even if we did lose.
I would like to see Gomis and Paloschi play together because Gomis is more likely to win a header in the box and help out in defence whereas Paloschi is more of a poacher , has quick feet and therefore is more likely to pick up a deflection or rebound and for this reason I would like to see more shots from just outside the box another reason to play Fer.
Im being generous, we may not even get that looking at the seasons results against bottom teams. We have a crap manager who don't have a clue what he is doing and we have a team full of individuals who cant play as a team....Some of the players including the captain talk as if they are destained for relegation and i cant see where we will get any points with confidence from......If i was a betting man then i would put my money on relegation looking at the run in we have....
Hoping we shake things up a bit , perfect time to . I'd take Taylor Rangel and Ayew out for a game . Something like Fab Fer , Fernandez , Williams , Naughton .........................Britton Barrow ...............Ki ..............Routledge ...................................Siggy ...................Paloschi Fuk Gomis .....imo .
Ah but that was under Monk & Co, we have moved on to better things, do try and keep up with events there's a good chap..........
I think your clutching at straws here Dragon If they had only listened to monk we would not be in this mess....
On last Saturdays performance Barrow instead of Routledge and it has to be one of Cork or Leon I would play Naughton instead of Taylor especially as he may have something to prove to the Spurs fans. The awkward one is Ayew or Siggy and on reflection I would go for Siggy. I think we could compete with that lineup rather than just sitting back and hoping for the best.
It does not matter who we field we have no game plan, nobody that can score on a regular basis and players who cant work together, The best part of our team is defence otherwise we would have claimed a relegation spot a long time ago.
By the way Dai , did you give Monk a stick to beat away all the clubs breaking his door down offering him a job ......"A Stick Unused " and probably never will . Pundit or weatherman for Garry I'm afraid , money's good for both and you don't have to be right about anything .... So he's got the credentials
He is taken the rest of the season off deservedly and has had a number of offers.....If half of you were to know the facts maybe you would know why monk forced the club to sack him with a nice £3m bonus in his back pocket.......I bet now Jenkins wished he never took the boards side and had stuck with our most successful manager ever. We are going to get relegated now and its all Jenkins and the boards fault for not listening to monk and acting on their own bringing in players not suited and getting rid of dyer to save one of the board members embarrassment....Dyer was paid off behind monks back and will never come back to the club again. Monk had a massive argument with the way they are messing up his way of playing that was so successful last season and was forced to play the new players because of the mega money invested in them. No manager can work like that and no decent manager accepted Jenkins offer even after flying half way around the world certain they would get their man......so what did they do but put the only man who did not want the job in charge stating he would remain until the end of the season. Well well so much for that as we get a new manager that none of our players had ever heard of and had to google his name ffs just to find out who he is....This poor bastard will now go on record as the one to take us down again leaving the real ones off the hook......So like i said if you knew the real reasons you would not be so hasty in condemning Monk who fought tooth and nail to the bitter end to get the club to listen to him to no avail. Now we have to pay the price by the look of it and it needed not have been this way.....
It's so easy to mock when your ignorant to the facts as it makes you feel like a hero but sadly those who know what went on because of close ties with people can only laugh at you......Sad really
