    I am sorry for being Pedantic Left, but its 46 years (released in 1977) and What A Waste wasn't on it originally!! But its a great album and its anniversary should be celebrated

    There was a very good remake of New Boots and Panties, all covers for charity a few years back that featured amongst other Robbie Williams doing Sweet Gene Vincent which was surprisingly good. A couple of others included

    A fascinating read.
    Led Zep seem strangely out of place
    I bought the NME from around 1985. I seem to remember The Smiths and The Jesus And Mary Chain topping polls then.
