My niece asked to hear a Finnish song because it's Christmassy

For some reason she ran away when I obliged...

    Twee punk, anyone?

The only Go Sailor album has become one of my favorites, for being one of the better break up albums lyrically while containing some of the most upbeat music I've ever heard. Rose Melberg has become one of my favorite people in music since I found out she was also in The Softies, and did a version of an Anne Briggs song.

I was in Morrisons Sutton on Thursday, when this came over the PA...

...I doubt that anyone else in the place knew what it was, let alone all of the words. It cheered me up, in that miserable place.

    Merry Christmas, Captain!

The backing band does. I'll listen to more Cub, so thanks.

Go Sailor might be my favorite album of the last year or so (though it's from 1996, I didn't find it till 2020). It's the way the peppiness of the music cuts the manic depression of the lyrics, or vice versa.

She was one of the roster of Radio 1 DJs in the 80s that
did the weekday slot before Peel time. So you got that
slice of music across all genres that was not (or yet to be)
top 40 material, but not at the levels which defined Peel.

For when you want to evoke emotion in your Youtube essay on symbolism in One Punch Man, or simply because that Camberwell Carrot isn;t going anywhere

    Yes, I know I didn't include LiS2. There's a reason for that...
