Just on twitter IanJTaylor Had some good positive preliminary talks with @tw_teamlotus today to try and get the two brands working closely. #QPR #excitingtimes 4 minutes ago via web
The two brands working together is an obvious. Can't see the benefit of Lotus on our shirts though... Air Asia is a more likely sponsor - they'd benefit in terms of custom (global profile on prem shirts etc.)
Depends on whether Tony wants to build brands in Europe or Asia. He's growing the Tune Hotels chain over here so may be them.
DHL are giving Man U £10m a year to sponsor their TRAINING KIT!! Etihad sponsor Citeh £40m a year, though this is under investigation as the sheik owns both the airline and the club and UEFA thinks it's a dodge to help them balance the books and so stay in CL. What are we worth to a sponsor - even if One of Tony's companies sponsors presumably the club gets some cash
I can't see Lotus being the main sponsor as they already have world wide recognition through the F1 coverage. But Air Asia would be an obvious solution for Fernandes, but I don't agree with it as it is all about free sponsorship for his other company and does nothing in way of actually bringing in more revenue for the club. Also if City are under investigation for their sponsorship deal then we are buggered if UEFA ban sponsorship by companies owned by the owners of the club.
