I am glad to see that the non Old Firm clubs are ready to make a stand but fail to see how they will get anything changed.

In saying that, I also find it laughable that Rangers are allowed a vote at all!!!! The rule SHOULD be if you are in admnistration, you lose the right to vote.
That would change voting to 10-1 required for any major changes allowing the 10 other clubs to finally get some say with 9-3 system.

Lawell at Celtic needs to wake up. He forgets that Celtic had secret squirrel meeting with Rangers over their administraion. He also feels its OK to give out to 10 clubs even though they (The OF) want to break away and move to England.

I really hope we get somewhere with this but fail to see how we will. So long as the OF have the power in their favour, we will continue to fester as a league.

Thoughts on this and MJ's take on it?

I agree wholeheartedly with your argument BD and concur with your conclusions. You want to read The Sunday Herald and read the pish old wattie is spouting on this topic.
He's basically deriding the 10 for trying to take advantage of wrankers demise. Now in their glorious cheating history RFc have NEVER EVER EVER tried to take advantage of a situation whereby an opponent/team/company/individual have been at a disadvantage!!!!!!
I used to have respect for Smith but now realise that was misplaced, once you become envagled with the dark side it taints your very soul..

All those with views on this from the OF, either currently connected or with previous connections, should take off their blue and green tinted specs and dry their eyes. The fact they are moaning about this tells you that they only really care about themselves. I really hope Rangers go to the wall and Celtic soon follow. It's like good and evil. One can't exist without the other.
To the PF. Please do the right thing and go play in a league of 2. That way you have enough of a challenge and all the money. The end......

Im no english scholar but given that the 10 are the majority, and the old firm the minority going against them, does that not make them the rebels??
I still reckon we need to leave the SPL and get back to 2 bodies running scottish football (or 1 would be even better) this mornings news:

"Scottish Premier League chairman Ralph Topping has claimed that two potential sponsors have pulled out because of recent events and bad publicity.
And he has urged the 10 non-Old Firm clubs to withdraw their attempt to change the voting structure, suggesting it is damaging its commercial future."

So the governing body are supporting the rebel 2 then!!! No shock there.

Does he not think that the Rangers situation has caused the sponsers to pull out rather than chairmans diascussions?? Oh im sorry there not allowed to say or see anything negative about the OF, must be in the SPL/SFA handbook page 1

How can the SPL be impartial now that Topping has chipped in with his 10cents worth?
I would assume that the 10 other clubs have had consultation with legal bodies on this as 11-1 is undemocratic. In fact 9-3 is too. Why not 7-5 and be done with it?
I really dream of the day that the OF p**s off up their own holes. That is the only thing that would really please everyone else.

The non-OF chairman are clowns and MJ is their king. On the one hand they want to end the 10-2 voting rights, but a few days ago they were saying that it would be financial smart to keep Rangers in the SPL. They don't know what they want.

The solution is simple. When Rangers go into liquidation, promote Dundee (as 2nd in the SFL to take their place) and then vote 11-1 to end the 11-1 voting system.

The alternative is frightening. When Rangers go into liquidation, Celtic demand and get a 12-0 voting system so that they can still control the SPL.
