Agreed. It is a "classic" in that every one watched it, when it came out and lots of people love it. But I dont like it at all, think its ****.
Me too, what’s less convincing than a rubber shark? A three foot high talking plastic placenta that’s always catch his finger in the door.
Me neither. Saving Private Ryan is a bloody good film! The first Indiana film was good. Those after, less so.
Jaws ( in it's day ) , Saving private Ryan , but my Fav is Close Encounters . Love it . Duel was great as well .
Jurassic Park was pretty good if you saw it for the first time in the cinema ... particularly if you had grown up watching films with magnified lizards and newts as dinosaurs or Ray Harryhauzens splendid (but hilariously dated) special effects monsters
In terms of overall movie quality it has to be Saving Private Ryan. In terms of sheer enjoyment, and I was a child when it was released so it's really been part of my growing up - Jurassic Park. Bridge of Spies and Catch me if you can were great too. The real question should be which John Williams soundtrack is best, but that probably deserves it's own thread.
Jaws is a great film, was then and still is. The only gash thing is the shark itself. You couldn't remake it though as the lead actors are who make it, anyone else wouldn't cut it. Pretty much agree with the general consensus on the rest, Saving Private Ryan is a great film, I watched it Easter weekend. Jurassic Park also a standout, Schindlers List too. The rest are fair to middling.
Talking about John Williams' movie scores. Jaws, Star Wars and Superman are his best imo. In terms of movies, I like the original 3 SW movies, but the Prequels and these news ones are ****ing terrible.
yea, the first 2 star wars films are stand outs (oriignal trilogy). Alien and aliens is class as well forgot to say i re-watched those recently.
