Yes, it's always as well to remember that the headlines are not written by the writer of the article.

    Theo Light Weight...

Actually, there is a world of difference between our two situations. You see, teams want our star players (Modric, Bale, Lennon) and Levy tells them to go away, and they go away. Teams want your star players (Fab, Naz, Clichy), Whinger tells them to go away, but they buy them anyway.

    See, different <ok>

The sad thing is, that I can actually feel Wrighty's pain in every word of that article.

    It's hilarious!

Also, if a Spurs fan went on to the Gooners' board and said that AFC is now City's feeder club, they'd be instantly banned for wumming.

    <laugh> Fair comment!

What's wrong with an honest bit of wumming, anyway? This site seems to have gone PC crazy!

I think this has to be the second point. In January we were still in the CL, had the chance to qualify for next season's CL, had a hit and miss strike-force and therefore speculation on an improvement in this area could have helped secure CL next season and the obvious cash that this brings. This would help to counter-balance the over-the-odds prices in the Jan transfer window. Secondly it would have put us in a stronger squad position this transfer window, allowing us to ship out those deemed no longer required and strengthen other areas of the squad.

If we had got that striker and they had succeeded, then there wouldn't be this feeling that if we got rid of Crouch and Defoe that we could be left in a last minute "Frazier Campbell" hunt as the core of the team was stable.

If on the other hand we didn't qualify then we would already have that striker on a longer term contract that would help us push on in the next season and not have to try and sign someone without the ability to offer CL next season.

Personally given the situation we are in I would like the striking situation sorted out sooner rather than later. Financially sensible or not to pay the extra £5 mill or whatever it is, it shows our intent as a club and also gives new players longer to adapt to life in England and for the team tactics to be trained; both of which take time.

You've got to admit, though, that Arsenal's transfer saga has been blindingly entertaining.

I'm even thinking of putting a bet on Walnut going to Chelsea.

I wouldn't say I hate Gooners. I can't say that I hate anyone or anything.

Wumming is no more than a bit of fun. One has to be able to laugh at oneself, or there's no hope for us as a race. I can laugh at myself, you only have to look at my avatar to understand the truth in that.

So, why won't the Goons let me laugh at them?*

*I say this in jest, of course**

**I feel constrained to explain this, as my deadpan humour has, in the past, led certain Goons into believing that I am being serious, and I rarely am.

Whilst it is probably meant to be funny, the more I think of it <yikes> the more I actually think it's a double-bluff!

I can absolutely assure you all that that is NOT me in my avatar.

Hopefully, armed with that knowledge, you can all now relax in the knowledge that you merely have a complete nutter in your midst rather than a deranged pervert with a gardening fetish.

Ah! Now, that is a completely different matter, and not one that I feel ready to share with you all. Not until I've got to know you all a bit better.

You can understand why SSN, The Sun and The Times want to talk about Modric so much - because the biggest news story of the moment isn't painting Murdoch's Evil Empire in the fairest light, so they want to distract people with anything they can lob at them.

They would be talking about Modric regardless of the phone hacking scandal - which by the way isn't true as journalists have ethics

Actually, thinking about it, there are quite a few things that Moddy hasn't denied. For example, has anyone heard him deny that he likes to get naked in the dressing room, rub himself all over with baby oil and then roll around in the pile of used jock-straps whilst squealing like a piggy? I certainly haven't.

I'm calling The Sun right now. This is a story that must be told!
