Every time I see him in the press he's speaking as though he's managing a third rate national team.

In the last week he's said that we shouldn't write off the World Cup, as though that's an option for a footballing nation our size, and that now Belgium, led by the ultra successul and tactical magician Roberto Martinez, are favourites to top the group.

I'm ****ing bored of him. He should be putting fire in their bellys, not managing everyone's expectations. He reminds me of David Moyes to be honest.

    He's depressing.

I could not agree more, imagine getting stuck with him in a bar. He should never have been appointed, track record is pants. Got a couple of results against second rate nations. Typical FA Appointment.

Chris Hughton will get the England job somewhere along the line. He's another one who toes the party line with the FA. No outbursts, a yes man, and another who will win us sweet FA.
We need a manager who can man manage, who can bully and can get results. Get SAF out of retirement. Or alternatively give it to Wenger. We might not win anything, he might not see anything, but at least the footballing style will be decent to watch.

He’s not inspiring at all to be honest.

    He’s tactically clueless as well.

I’m not expecting much to be honest.

    I have to agree.

When he got it he spoke well and it made some sense as the plan was that continuity from the u21s that had worked for other countries.

Issue is, we are England, we invented the game, and Southgate landed in there at a time when we had a burst of players who can actually play, hold the ball and press teams.

He chooses not to, all well and good riding out a narrow lead against Slovenia or such, but it's a different ball game against Hazard, Messi, Mbappe.

Many have low expectations for the tournament, maybe that was a deliberate plan, and if so he's done that magnificently.

I don’t want low expectations though, I want to be thinking that we’ve the first world class striker since Shearer. We’ve an evasive midfielder making great runs, and Sterling can beat any man on his game.

That’s before we get to Joe Hart.

I must admit that I was not too keen on him, but so far he's ticked all the boxes, and I am well chuffed that we got him tbh. You have to say well done Short and Bain, although this does not come easily.
