Really dont know what went wrong. We gave away some really silly goals (2 almost identical headers) and our solid defence looked shakey. I think we are missing Westwoods ability to read the game. We struggled to control the game in midfield and even more so when Blooms went off. Another penalty save from Bully but from where i was it was probably the worst penalty i have ever seen taken. Shame we couldnt hold out for the point i would have been more than happy with that.
Must have been really disappointing being at the game, saving a penalty and then equalising near the end, thinking we had secured a point. I was disappointed to suddenly find we were 2-1 down after taking the lead and, from the stats, looking as though we had the best of the play. The saved penalty gave me hope then the equaliser lifted me but it didn't last long; that was a real downer. Still at the end of the day, losing is only 1 point worse than drawing so it's not that bad. A couple of good wins will put us back in the picture; I believe Chesterfield dropped 2 points tonight.
I was there for Southend on Tuesday, next to the frigging drummer - at least he tried to provide some noise and in fairness we were fairly quiet in the away end. It was a really good game, and Southend were there for the taking in the first half, but we seemed a little wasteful and out final ball at times wasd appalling. I am still unimpressed by Scott D at the moment, but hopefully he can change my mind. Southend are a pwerful side and maybe in the play-off shake-up come the end of the season.
