Lonergan - 6 - Made a good save in first half but nothing special, last seasons total looms Connolly - 4 - Did nothing, is nothing. Ive seen better full backs in league 2 Kisnorbo - 5 - Over ran, tried but is playing in a worse defence than last season O Brien - 3 - At fault for at least 2 goals, slow dint win a header O dea - 3 - O dear is all I'll say, why play a center back at left bk SG you clown Snodgrass - 3 - Worst ive seen him play, no confidence or sharpness still love him Clayton - 5 - Looked good altho a bit inconsistent, a few years to go Brown - 3 - Mocked this signing and I dnt need to justify myself, just gives fouls away Gradel - 3 - Awful, bad tempered. Need him back at his best Howson - 3 - What you see in him baffles me, showed some good touches. THE END McCormack - 2 - Feel sorry for the lad, not a center forward, long balls to him is pathetic SUBS Paynter - 1 - No comment needed Nunez - 4 - Looked lively, good shot in 2nd half, dint get involved enough. Needs to start Sam - 3 - Good to see him back, did ok in last 15 mins OVERALL - 3 - Awful performance, defence is worse than last season, midfield is way worse than last season and we have no fit center ofrwards, time is on our side, needs to change it BIG time. Brown, O dea, Rachubka, Lonergan, Clayton, O Brien, Paynter arent good enough, absolute joke today, how those poor fans sung through out that heap, u shd b payed for attending that. Long balls to McCormack is ridiculous, we cld only string 3 passes together and that wasnt forwards, had two shots on goal, one was in the 70th odd minute. SORT IT OUT
Lonergan - 7 Connolly - 5 Kisnorbo - 5 O'Brien - 5 O'Dea - 6 Brown - 6 Clayton - 8 Snodgrass - 4 Howson - 6 Gradel - 6 McCormack - 6 Paynter - 5 Nunez - 4 Sam - 4
Your comments on Connolly and Nunez couldn't be more contrasting yet you've given them the same mark out of 10? Yet more evidence you're an idiot.
He forgot to give Somma a 10 for showing up at Farsley Celtic to watch the reserves. Also, where the **** were our attack today? Best attack in the League turned into that gashfest. Even worse against a newly promoted team who weren't known for their defensive prowess, instead opting for the "score more than them" approach.
Ratings - out of 10 Londergan 5 - should have got the first goal... Connolly 6 Paddy 6 Obrien 3 - woeful Odea 3 - how can we keep getting rubbish left backs Gradel 4 - sorry did not seem 100% committed to me Howson 7 - only one who came out with any credit Clayton 3 - lightweight and not good enough on that display might have played well in pre season but.... Brown 4 - lucky to be on the pitch Snoddy 4.- poor game McCormack 5 - he is not a loan striker and never will be Subs - no real impact Paynter 5 Nunez 6 Sam 5 ok.... first game and away top a promoted side..... Southampton played with passion and were well organised. We had 5 in midfield and never had control It proves one thing....we need a Loan striker on Monday who is strong powerful and can win the ball and hold up play... i remeber last seaosn we started with Derby and lost 2-1 so this is not a doom and gloom message... but we have to do better....what i will say is Johnson was missed yesterday!!!
Howson 7 what did he do apart from miss a goal ball watch for their first goalhes, no more a captain than birds eye .Kisnorbo for captain now
Disgruntled Leeds fans after the first game of the season... From an outside perspective, I thought Lonegran did well, made a few great saves to keep the score respectable. Your defence was pretty embarrassing, O'Brien was the worst out of the lot. O'Dea doesn't look to be the most shrude addition. Howson is your best player by a country mile - he was the only player showing any sort of ambition in the midfield. I've never rated Brown, Clayton doesn't look great either. Snodgrass had a poor game, you should have took the £5m from Norwich. Gradel was truly awful (until the last 10 minutes, when he could be bothered), again you should have took the money. McCormack played on the left wing for the 2 years before he joined you, so it's pretty laughable that SG thinks he can play as a lone striker (Phil Brown actaully tried to buy him two seasons ago, we had a bid of £3.5m rejected ) See you lot a week on Tuesday
Are you serious? Howson was good, atleast he did stuff, hes the only one that can think he did ok. When he dropped back into a more defensive role we looked at lot more composed and when he was in his free role, he was putting in more effort than mccormack to chase down defenders and the goalie, some good passes and he ghosts into positions and is often unmarked because of this, a few times i thought give it to howson he is open but they didnt. He is the key to our season not gradel or snoddy. Everyone else though was poor and QSS im putting you on ignore from now on your an idiot... truly an idiot
It seems I'm in the minority here but I thught Clayton had a good game, put in a few biting tackles & displayed good passing vision. Worth persevering with.
"and QSS im putting you on ignore from now on your an idiot..." I'm sure he's devastated. I thought Howson was poor and I think for such an important role that he plays, he hardly ever influences the game as much as he should. All those transfer rumours pre season re our best players and Howson was hardly mentioned. I wonder why.
I'm with you there. Every time I thought "now that's a bit better" Clayton was involved. Didn't let their midfield rest and played passes "playmaker" Kilkenny could only dream about.
Nunez is the same amount of quality in ay less time, if Nunez wlda started he woulda made his way up to about 6/7 you prick CLAYTON 8 hahaha, were u dropped at birth?
As i saw it Lonergan 3 was a fault for the 1st goal Connolly 2 woeful Kisnorbo 4 showed lack of match practice OBrien 3 to slow ODea 4 should not have started not at the club long enough Snodgrass 2 looked uninterested maybe playing for a move Clayton 6 Tried hard Brown 3 To old on this showing Gradel 5 frustrating Howson 6 Tried to rally his troops McCormack 4 Never a target man Paynter 1 just for turning up Nunez 3 Kept running into brick walls Sam 4 showed more endevour than snodgrass
He was literally shockingly awful. I could hardly believe it was actually him. The worst moment was when we had a counter-attack on when it was either 0-0 or 1-0 and he just passed it out of play. Hopefully he just isn't fully recovered from his injury yet.
