If we done this I would hate it! http://www.footballshirtculture.com...2-2013-umbro-home-a-away-football-shirts.html
Would be unhappy about this tbvh if I was a southampton fan I know a man utd fan who says our strip is boring because its the same red and white stripes year in year out, I quickly reminded him that the man utd shirt hasnt changed in about 10 years apart from the collar...
Think the white away shirt there looks more suitable for their home kit. Season before last they played in white top white shorts and black socks so that'll have eased their pain over this change i reckon
Do you remember that god awful top with the thin red stripes with a black border (I think) tucking hated that top always liked the traditional thick stripes.
If SAFC did this to us then I can comfortably state that no more than 100 would be sold and fans would just wear their old 'proper' red & white stripes. On the Man Utd fan claim, who actually gives a flying **** what someone from Essex thinks about anything anyway. Sunderland wear thick red & white stripes at home and that will NEVER change. Period. Apart from that ****ing awful thing from the early 80's, that was an absolute abortion but at least still had red & white stripes of a sort. Lol
Maybe there's a rule only allowing two red and white striped teams beginning with 'S' in the Premiership at any given time. Seriously though those kits are a shocking rejection of Southampton's history, if we turned out in all red I'm sure all our fans would be up in arms.
I'm all up for a bit of pin stripes but there simply isn't enough on the Soton shirt. It looks horrible with the sock short combo too.
It just go's to show that clubs treat their fans & tradition with total disregard. The Saint's fans need to make a stand here like. Phone the club & tell them to shove their season tickets up their arses.
I live in my retro 73 cup final shirt. And when that wears out I'll buy another one. Stripes or nothing for me , I'd still wear stripes even if ES got us a billion pound deal to wear pink shirts.
