Seems there are quite a few of us on here.

Any more for any more. I don't like using the term "fan club", always sounds like sometrhing for wee girlies and a boy band but there are conventions held all over the world in eulogy to Stan and Ollie. Couple of us were going to go to one such convention at the Blue Lamp pub in Aberdeen over 20 years ago. We chickened out though. Probably in deference to the great Groucho Marx and his famous quote about "clubs"

So for those of us who are "fans" lets hear about your favourite memories. And, are there any more of us on here.

Not a party but a screening of the best of Laurel and Hardy.

    Followed by a curry.

You always have to throw a wet blanket on things don't you.

Get out a bit, smell the flowers, glory at the trees.

    Be positive. It's not difficult.

Rangers are in the past, let go of them and marvel at Ally's cup successes.

For me it has to be Towed in a Hole where Stan and Ollie buy a boat to go fishing. Some of the scenes where they are repairing the boat should be taught in film schools as they are the blueprint for comedy.

There used to be L&H films on all through the summer holidays when I were a lad. They used to pad out kids TV with them in the mornings along with a lot of Harold Lloyd, Buster Keaton, Charlie Chaplin etc with the odd Fatty Arbuckle, Keystone Cops.

I never warmed to Charlie Chaplin though, I still don't find him funny now despite his obvious talent and fame, it doesn't make me laugh like Keaton or Lloyd do.

I got a boxed set of Laurel & Hardy films a couple of years ago and although there are the obvious plodders/padding most of them are timeless.

    Count me in.
