    Morning Tractors...

There's a rumour that Sonko is currently residing in a club owned property in a village to the west of Hull, the last time he was with us he was a complete disaster, we conceded 22 goals in the nine games he played in. How was he for you last season? I know a lot of you lads don't rate Delaney, but from what we saw of Sonko, he was definitely worse than Damien.

    Cheers

The fact that our defensive options are so limited and we're releasing him tells you all you need to know really. Certainly a presence but some dire mistakes and an injury hit season. Great heart, but time to call it a day I think.

Hello OLM. He was very inconsistent for us last season, on his better days he matched the best stoppers in this division, especially in the air in both boxes. However on one of his bad days he was truly awful, used to get turned very easily, would lose his man, and his passing left a lot to be desired. Will never forget his back pass in the six yard box, straight to an opposition player who duly scored. To be fair to him, a lot his trouble stemmed from him not being completely fit, and we had no else to take his place, who could really do a job at this level. So I would say that if he does join you, it would depend on his fitness, to how well he plays.

OLM, I read on CI that you'd posted this, and felt I should impart some information.

I actually put this on one of our threads I think, but I can't remember which one.

Anyway, a friend of mine knows someone who works for a car rental firm.

They rented out a motor to a customer in Ferriby. It was Sonko.

My friend is Spurs fan, and he told me this news with a grin on his face.

I told him to **** off.

We're being linked with some good players at the moment, I think we'll sign Heskey and Coutts this week and Michael Keane from Man United when they get back from their tour, but I find it hard to believe we're going to bring back a player who was a complete disaster the last time he was with us. He conceded 11 goals in his first three games for us and 22 in total, in the nine games he played before he was dropped. I know that was in the Premier League, but it's still a shocker of a record and it seems he didn't cement himself in the starting XI with either you or Pompey.

I hope he asks for £20k a week again, so the deal collapses on personal terms. I might spend the week in the KC car park in case he needs a lift back to the station.

Thanks for the responses anyway. <ok>

I did an article on here a long time back, in his first 10 games or something to that extent, we went from conceding over 2 goals a game, to just over 1.

Without Sonko last season when he played well at the start, we would have been in BIG BIG trouble.

The fans really took to him too in the games I attended.

I think sadly he ended up performing not so well. Very injury prone too - personally I'd be happy for him to sign on again next season.
