Magath sounds like a more old school and hardcore version of Di Canio so that could blow up in their faces big time. By all accounts he's no good in the long term but might have a short term effect so I presume Fulham are knowingly rolling the dice and hoping it doesn't come up relegation. I'm not sure it will work for them, today's footballers far prefer the carrot to the stick and to my understanding Magath is basically a s**t load of sticks. I think they might be one of the three relegated it all depends on how strong the new manager effect is for them.
When listening to the sports shows on the radio, I have heard people say "I hope Fulham stay up" and "I Hope Cardiff stay up" and others - I haven't once heard any neutral say "I Hope Sunderland stay up" - the Media hate us and I hope we rub their noses in it. It pisses me off a little that they want this team and that team to stay up - but our owner has always been superb (unlike others - Vincent Tan for instance), our gaffer is highly respected and a complete class act, yet still the neutrals appear to want us to fail
