finally arived after 6 months of waiting my copy of my book finally arived !it looks very good so now its all done got to send off to club next week see what they think?if all ok im going get 2000 copies put in club shope, now remember folks every copy sold £1 will go straight back to the club so if we manage sell all 2000 copies they get 2 grand cheque through the door-u may not like my emails but if you want a fasinating read of what has gone on over past 10 years or so then i recommend you have a look their some lovely pictures in it and some happy memories time under curb its called the highs and lows of being a charlton fan priced £5-99
can they actually fit 2,000 copies in the club shop? will you be doing an official book signing as well?
see how well the book sells first see im putting something back into the club so im not that bad am i?
Good luck, JA. I am finalising the first draft of my own book. It is nothing to do with Charlton - although I may try something later on if all goes well. My own book centres on a private relationship between Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. I think it's good.
Sounds interesting pea.you got a publisher yet? I am working on my own book, loosely charlton based, well football based any way.
I do have a publisher, yes, but there are complications/arguments regarding some of the edits. It is a bit of a testing time. I must confess to knowing Ducker quite well from the BBC 606 site. He is a very successful writer and put me onto some contacts within the industry. He usually sits in the West Upper near me, but I didn't see him at the Bournemouth game. His brother was there with Ducker's kids but I didn't ask where he was. Do you remember Ducker? Good luck with your own book, cafc4ever.
cafc 4 ever-yes they are very close connected to hereford united proping up league 2 at present after a 4-0 thrashing in the week its done really well a bit like a programme style,or colour arsenal mag so its easier to read for all charlton fans its basically photos ive taken at grounds home and away since the early 80s some lovely photos as well at big games its also an interesting read as well. The reason why it took so long had to contact lawyers and copyright issues so far seem ok with everything so im keeping my fingers crossed the club will like it when i pass on to jaminez and slater to have a look,i didnt realise how much work went into it why taken a long time to produce, but ive completed it now and all copied so fingers crossed they like it.i would like to do a new one on the who concert at the valley ,if any charlton fans have photos of the event i would like to put all in one book eventually
thanks ponders good luck with yours interesting back then!read up a lot on that i recommend visit nottingham castle
Pea, could talk all day about that part of history, not an expert like you obviously are, but do let me know when its out as i would love to read it. Sounds good ja, promise to put it on my xmas list if its on sale by then! My working title is 'why my team are **** and yours aren't much better'. If anyone has read why England loose, the pyramid or football with the enemy they would know what to expect
Cheers, cafc4ever. Yeah, it is a great period. Some real characters around which make for good fiction. I shall indeed let you know when it is out on the shelves. How far are you with your own work?
Done a lot of back ground reading and a bit of research, about half way to a chapter lay out. Will take me years and not in a rush, hope to have a first chapter that's readable by xmas.
Interesting stuff lads⦠Didnât know there were so many budding writers on hereâ¦!! It must be nice to have a genuine interest in something and the ability and time to write something you can be proud of about your chosen subject⦠Good on youâ¦!!
I love writing espescially after a few beers.....try this one Old mother hubbard went to the cupboard to fetch he poor doggy a bone, as she bent over, Rover took over, and gave her a bone of his own!!
