Like everything there is good points as well as bad ones, the premier league wouldn't be the place it is now without him. So whilst we have hit the jackpot by being here, there is a lot of downsides to it. We know the lower leagues and grass roots suffer because of it.

But the inflation of player wages can be put on Chelsea's shoulders, because they started it. But it would have happened in any case if you look at man city for example where a country is backing the team. Plus the inflation of wages is not unique to this country.

As for Roman, I met him a few times when in Moscow many moons ago, he was a nice enough guy, he loved talking about football and was often at games then. Little did I know he would take that interest to Chelsea, it was about 1996-97 I met him.

Rich people have always bought football Clubs (fx Elton John bying watford)or huge Companies for commercial reasons. The only different thin about the Abramovic/oilfund Investments is the lack of patience, not being interested in Building something; but the urge for immediate success. Is it any different with the Glazers owning Manutd, or FIAT owning Juventus? I don't think so.
The Traditional big Clubs have been put under pressure, I consider that a good thing. The traditional "romantic" idea of football has vanished, the question is if it didn't dissappear with the Bosman-rule, the introduction of the PL/CL and not with the "revolution" you mention...

I think it has been good for us - the top players in world football come to The Liberty. It has increased competition in The Prem - Man U would probably have won every title if it wasn't for the revolution.

But for the English national team? It is easy to blame the Prem, but some countries do well with a poor domestic league. English football needs to invest heavily in coaching 9 year olds - as Spain did.

Rich foreign owners have most definitely ruined British football in many ways imo. Its not a level playing field anymore for one, When we were last in the top flight it was a joy to be apart as you could not definitely say who was going to be in the top 6, every club had their chance even us who was at the top all over the xmas period. I have seen Norwich, aston villa and many other teams take the title and that was good for football, today just a select few have any chance whatsoever of winning the title and you will have a 1 in 4 chance of being right. the rest of us don't get a look in and that makes the premiership so one sided and unfair.
The championship imo is a much fairer league where everyone has a chance and it all comes down to the manager and the players and not the amount of money you spend getting the best players and paying them obscene wages.
I think we are stuck with the situation now and thats a shame ans the premiership has become toys for the rich boys and a farce........I leave you with a thought....what other sport do fans pay good money knowing they will never see their team win the title...

Rugby. Can't see the Ospreys winning the Heineken Cup.
