I thought this was an interesting article, see what you think http://www.clarkeonenil.co.uk/07/2012/the-leeds-united-loose-cannon-grass-is-always-greener/
I was thinking along similar lines driving into work this morning. Could you imagine the atmosphere and banter ? Bring it on
Great signing - really happy with this. Just need to get Turner now, a defensive midfielder and keep Vaughan fit and we're good to go. Happy Days.
yeah literally taken you thieving bastards You actually gonna employ your own scouts soon or just keep using ours?
But seriously, if there was a light at the end of the Leeds Utd tunnel, they'd probably all have stayed. You only get a decade or so in their profession, so it makes sense to spend those years at the top level you can, rather than wait for empty promises to be fulfilled where they learned their trade. Leeds = what may be ; Norwich = what is
The're understandibly getting rather bitter on the Leeds board now and are slagging off Norwich and Norfolk in general would you believe ? I'm sorry to say I took the bait http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/158854-Snodgrass-has-gone?p=3201629#post3201629
maybe you should take it as a compliment! i mean, all three players were developed at leeds, they've all made their way to the premier league, so you must be doing something right in terms of bringing these players forward and making them stand out players. we have a reputation for taking the very best players outside the top flight and giving them a chance to progress their careers in the premier league - we are a club who are getting it right on and off the pitch at the moment, so its a natural place to come for players who aren't going to get the chance at their own club, and sadly for leeds, they are no closer to promotion than the were at the start of last season.
i can understand their frustrations. they've watched a club who are smaller than them come from exactly the same place as them (league one), overtake them, continue their rise all the way to the top and leave them trailing. had they not made some errors then its a path they too could have taken and would probably be able to take it even further than we can. fact is, we didn't make any mistakes - we got it right on and off the pitch and continue to do so, thus making us a popular destination for their players who have witnessed first hand how the two sides have progressed. no need to slag our county off though - clearly some are deluded and have never been to norfolk. if they were to come here, no doubt they'd end up staying like just about everyone else who comes here.
I've been to Leeds to stay with a friend, feck me it was like driving into Beirut, packs of wild kids roaming the street, friendly neighbourhood drug dealers. I'm sure it's not all like that but I was glad to get home Can't beat North Norfolk coast!
to be fair it is a compliment mate but its also even more frustrating to think we have all the foundations to get us to the premiership and back where we belong just one stupid little old cretin stopping us. I wouldn't read that thread if I where you, at the end of the day most us Leeds fans get on well with you and the other are gonna be bitter when you signed our players of the years and longest serving players 2 years in a row.
what you have to remember is that there are many clubs like yourselves who have the infrastructure and potential to reach the premier league and stay there long term. its not just leeds and you're all competing for those three little spots year in, year out. leeds have no god-given right to reach their goal before any of the others. it drives me potty when you hear people claim that they 'deserve' to be in the premier league... no you don't - you deserve to be where you are. it'll happen eventually, i'm sure.
.....yeah, that is one affliction i would not wish on anybody. the sooner he is gone the sooner your club can progress.
Seriously though Snoddy will do brilliant for you guys, Cant see Pilkington getting a game ahead of him. Hope hes stays off the drink and gets fitter for you guys.
pilks plays on the left, snodgrass will play on the right i'd have thought. we have bennett on the right but they all alternate during games anyway. snodgrass will compete with both lads i suppose. we certainly have one heck of a midfield to choose from now. i'd even go so far as to say its one of the strongest in the division. i'd personally take our midfield options over those of liverpool for instance
