I have to say 1.5mil is a bit pathetic if that is the bid, but we did do the same with moro last summer and millwall finally caved in. Maybe DM is doing the same with snodgrass??
well we aren't going to go straight in with a bid of £4m and them go 'yeah ok'. that would be mad business! we'll start low and raise the bid until a compromise is found. i reckon £3.5m will definitely get him but i think we may hold out below £3m
slightly off topic, but transfer-related. reading are about to sign miappa (spelling is wrong i know) from watford, are closing in on gunter and saints are closing in on clyne. these have all been muted as targets for us. Are we genuinely missing out on these players, are they red herrings or do you think we were interested in any of them? Any thoughts.
These names were passed around when Lambert was at the helm, Hughton will have his own preferences I would have thought.
They were lambert targets, Hughton will have other ideas for personnel Except snodgrass, everyone wants snodgrass lol
saints will be fine. they aren't throwing around money which isn't the clubs own generated money. yes they have backing but they are being very sensibly run these days. reading however, they are not. they are being solely funded by a russian who may or may not stay true to his word. saints are effectively doing what we will, assuming all goes to plan and we stay up, get the ground sorted etc in about three years time.
saints won't go silly, they have said that, but Reading seem to be on the slippery slope along with West Ham
....they have only been mentioned as targets by the fans on canary boards, no mention of them being targeted coming out of carrow road. so, no, we are not missing out on them.
May have never been a target for us, but I'm still disappointed not to even try for Clyne (we could have but who knows). Going to be a top player.
"We'd like to keep Rob, and Rob knows that. Whether that will be possible we'll have to wait and see." Warnock basically admitting that Snodgrass wants to leave. He will be at Carrow Rd or Villa Park next year.
