Again, what you hope, unless of course you know more details about your supposed takeover than everyone else. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jan/18/norwich-leeds-captain-jonny-howson - "Leeds confirm reluctantly accepted offer" "Howson refused to agree a new Elland Road contract"
Just seen a few things posted on The Pink Un from other websites regarding the news. Had to LOL at most of them: Mark Lawrenson on Twitter: Mark Lawrenson ‏@MARK_LAWRENS0N SkySports are reporting that Norwich have made a bid for Snodgrass from Leeds. I didnt know you had to bid for players from your feeder club Taken from WACCOE: Chris Hughton: "We'll carry on from where Paul left off, what did he do to get this club where it is today?" Norwich board: "Raid LUFC for their best players on the cheap" Chris Hughton: "Done." From Twitter again: EllandRoad Turnstile ‏@ERTurnstile BREAKING NEWS: Norwich to make a bid for Leeds United's ground and training ground. More to follow . .
I know more than most people appear to. That we'll have a comfortably top half budget to spend. That we already have some ambitious targets lined up for when the dosh is on the table. That it should be happening soon. That players have likely been briefed about it, so Snodgrass will likely not be rushing to any decisions based on signings so far. 1. Of course Bates is going to say it was 'reluctantly accepted'. His propaganda machine is there to spin their version of the truth to get Leeds fans on-side, not to piss them off. He's hardly going to say he cracked open the champers and bought a new seal-fur penis gourd as soon as the Howson money hit his bank balance, is he? 2. Howson, like Snodgrass, was waiting for signs of ambition in terms of A) the contract offered to him and B) the club's summer transfer dealings. You're ignoring my point about Ben Parker who said Howson wasn't happy about going at all, and wanted to stay at Leeds despite Bates forcing him away to the Broads.
You boys really need to realise that whilst you're a big club, you ain't no big pull anymore. The fact that we've taken Johnson and Howson and now it looks like we still want Snodgrass should tell you that. Players these days want limelight, wages and stability and they want it a week last Tuesday. They don't and won't hang around and wait just in case a takeover happens sometime this Summer. I still think we won't sign him.
But at least Leeds aren't having to borrow a local 'keeper for their tour of Holland, like Ipswich are.
howson might not have wanted to leave initially but he seems to love it here! i wouldn't be surprised at all for him and johnson to have had a few words with snodgrass...
Weve also been linked with hearts 30 year-old CB andy webster As for Snodgrass last time we bid, leeds publicily rejected the move straight away. This time either club are refusing to comment!
I think to sell Crofts plus some cash to get Snodgrass is sound business. Also if we could get him rather than him going to Villa Park wouold be a 'double whammy'!!!!
Snodgrass would be a good signing. Probably Leeds' only good player, reckon they might go down next year. Rather have Moses though!
the only drawback with signing snodgrass is his lack of pace, and pace is something which i'd like to see added this summer.
Quite right! I've become a bit disillusioned with Snodgrass, this has been going on too long! Hopefully, if he actually signs, he won't break the bank. Supers, I would have thought you would have been concerned about swapping a DM for a winger? I know you feel we need a new one, but surely ridding ourselves of what we've got for a winger isnt ideal?
i personally don't see crofts as a defensive midfielder. he can't play that deep-lying role very well. he is much better bombing forward late from midfield and getting stuck in further up the pitch. i think a move to leeds would be perfect for crofts too and he isn't going to play much here though to be fair to the lad, when he does play he works his socks off. we need a new holding player whether crofts stays or goes so i suppose nothing has changed. i also feel we need an extra option out wide so snodgrass would solve that (should he come, which personally i doubt he will).
Im not too sure about this one. I mean were leeds any good with howson johnson and snodgrass in midfield. Its one thing having 2 of their players but 3? And I know he is decent but id rather spend a bit more on Anita as a top quality replacement for crofts. I say anita and davis would tidy our squad up perfectly.
I think you're forgetting you're a mid-table championship team mate. Gonna struggle to attract top players for at least a few years, by which time (should all go well)) we can be well established ourselves.
