He has to be doesn't he? Sitting at home watching MOTD and thinking about Chelski. please log in to view this image Well done bonny lad, be interesting to see how far you take them.
The guy was never given a chance by players or management. Doubtless at interview he outlined his plans and goals and how to achieve them, but you cannot around certain players attitudes.
I've always liked the chap. A younger, not as proven Mourinho. Glad he's doing well. He's doing wonders for Bale.
Got to agree with this successive managers have been and gone after at best a full season. I like Chelsea supported them in the early 70s still got a soft spot for them but, even they must see it is player power that is doing for managers.
I thought you meant smirking tabs, like Good luck to him, though. He got buggered by Abramovich and it's good to seem him keeping the spuds higher than Chelski.
Would be great to see Spurs finish above Chelski. He was brought in to do a job there and never allowed to do it.
Pleased people agree with me that a good young manager was shafted at Chelski. As has been said player power did for him. He had the nerve to drop players that weren't doing it on the pitch and looked, even to outsiders, out of sorts. But the egos at Chelski thought they were too good to warm the bench for the odd match. When players pick the team it can only be detrimental to the team.
I think he tried to do too much too soon. He should have phased the old guard out not try and help them out the door. Arsenal have always been like my second team but im sick of Wenger and was actually pleased to see Spurs triumph
Player power won the day at Chelski, no doubt about it in my mind. Very similar situation to Clough & Leeds in the 70's. To many old/powerful players who refuse to accept the managers way.
This. To be fair he wasn't doing exactly amazingly at chelsea was he? And my spurs fan mate reckons he's not much cop for them either, just a case of his dodgy tactics being outweighed by the brilliance of bale. As for chelsea and player power, I'm not so sure about that one either, I think it's more to do just with abramovich being a greedy twat with no patience. I mean, the players loved RDM didn't they? But he stil got the boot just like everyone else...
Spot on. Just as the big names at Leeds got one of the greatest managers in history the sack then all retired inside 2 years, terry and co got avb sacked and won't be around much longer either. Avb could have been around for 10 years at chelsea and Maybe got them back to champions. I'd love to see chelsea struggle just to see smacked arses face when if sacks another loser.
