Graham Potter. He's taken Östersunds FK from the 4th tier of Swedish football (which really is a poor standard) to the group stage of the Europa League in 7 years. He's done it all on a very tight budget and is know for getting the most out of misfit players and giving second chances to players who don't make it elsewhere. He's apparently as much a psychologist as a coach. He's even got a Hull connection having worked at the University........ He'd be cheap, he spends sod all and works with a tiny backroom staff. The Allams would love him.
Not sure that describes City, I think there are some inflated egos and some who'd rather be somewhere else regardless of the manager. Throw into that a manager most of the team will never have heard of and it'd easily be a disaster all round.
He made the group stages (well actually he's made the knockout stages with a game to spare) of the Europa League (beating Galatasaray over two legs in the process). He's out of our league.
I wasn't really suggesting it was us. It's who he brings in. A bit like Marco Silva does. I think so also. He's on a hell of a roller coaster playing in Europe. I've no idea if he'd do well outside of that club or outside of Sweden but if he keeps pulling off the results he's getting someone will take a punt on him.
