Tarbs should be captain and the 2nd name on the team sheet everytime for me apart from Paddy in goal is Shaun Derry who would be my second choice captain should Adel totally lose the plot. Both have been outstanding servants in our last 49 league games (apart from the odd minor blip along the way ie Hull and Scunthorpe away, Leeds and Watford at home) and I take the adage if it aint broken it dont need fixing. Ive seen nothing in the first 3 games to suggest that Adel and Shaun cant take the step up to the premier league.
No need to change now - give it a few games and then if there is a clear natural leader give it to them if it would make a positive difference. Adel not a real captain in terms of consistent attitude and example, but if having an armband and calling heads or tails makes him happy and a better player, let him keep it. Always been a bit bemused by the position of captain in football (as opposed to cricket or rugby) - often seems meaningless, only a few game changing ones stand out - Bobby Moore, sometimes Terry (sorry), Beckenbauer ....Can you name the captain(s) of the great Liverpool teams of the 70s and 80s? I can't, cos they had leaders everywhere.
