Don't think this has been mentioned but he must be feeling good about himself this weekend..

After being invited by the FA to do so, staunchly recommends his mate Sam to the FA as the man they need to lead England and he gets the job..

And then see his other mate, the man he recommended for Man U, land the Sunderland job and hopefully rebuild his reputation with a big Premier league club..

He must have been devastated when it all went tits up for Moyes at Man U and I bet he was one of the first to congratulate the pair of them in their new jobs..

Love him or hate him, the man certainly still has some clout in football..

I will certainly raise a glass to him..<ale>

Not sure Moyes coming here and being successful was part of his master plan. I think he's still smarting over the Poznan, he's that kind of bloke.

He's got clout though no doubt about that and he's earned it. If you're going to take anyone's advice about football it'd be his.

Oh I don't think either but I bet you a quid that once it was pretty nailed on for Sam for England, he thought there's a nice little number up there for Davie boy now, especially following Sam in..

I don't think he will be smarting over the Poznan at all, a week is a year in football and all that..<ok>

He said a few months later he didn't hold it against Sunderland, he reacted after the match when emotions were high, but accepted any group of fans would have done it. He said he'd not forgotten it but there was no revenge on the cards.

Rooney on the other hand... I'm sure he still uses it to this day.

Fergie likes your club I believe, predominantly because he doesn't like Newcastle.

We've had a good relationship with you for years. We've helped keep your wage bill down by hoovering up your deadwood ever since you overpaid for Hellion. (Autocorrect but not far off)

Good honest club, got a lot in common, we're both good at closing 12 point gaps and making the Magpies hate us for it <laugh>

Carrick's just signed for another year and he's a Toon lad is he not? NMG and Cest would be raging.

I'm fairly sure that he was once quoted after retirement that he always got on well with SAFC but in the latter years we became a nuisance by constantly trying to get certain players from MUFC either to buy or on loan and not taking no for an answer...
