I've been following him on twitter, comes across as a family man and a thoroughly decent human being - complete opposite of what we have thought of him in the past. A changed man perhaps or has he always been this way and we just didn't - or didn't want to see it?

I have been following a few of the other players, they seem to love playing for us and their passion for the club shines through, they also badly want to win to help keep us up.

I was thinking something similar as it goes plymborn. Bloody Twitter now. As if there isn't enough reality programmes on the tele people have to follow the day to day lives of god knows who on a website. I have told my wife if I ever even mention Twitter or Facebook then she must shoot me immediately as I will have lost it completely. Mrs lalala, now far be it from me to chastise you about anything. But, this is a website and anyone can write any old rubbish on there and come across as St Teressa if they want to. I believe Joey Barton does it along with others like good old Wayne. To coin a phrase you used yourself the other day, it's bollocks. He might be a lovely family man but that is no reflection on his footballing prowess. He got sent out on loan for a season and he has been around the blocks following a supposed promising career when he started. THEY CANNOT ALL BE WRONG. Don't mean to shout. He is doing "ok" now and that is all. If he keeps it up for more than half a season then maybe just maybe I will alter my opinion.

Not cynical just not interested in the private ramblings and lives of other folk is all. My daughter does facebook and I think my son might as well. My wife has a friend who tell her things we don't know or other things as if we wouldn't know about our family. She gets it off Facebook. Why? It's not her family so why does she even look.

sensible, what is the difference between ramblings on here or indeed ATD and twitter? Answer none, you have chosen to read crap on ATD and I twitter - that's the only difference. As recomended ( by can't remember who it was now) if you follow the players you can find out stuff first. I actually quite enjoy reading Simon Walton't tweets, it heartwarming to read about his genuine love for his daughter....and then there is general chat on here = the dregs of society. I know which I prefer.

Don't knock it until you've tried it!

The difference between reading what players say on Twitter and what we witter about here is that ..... ummm... it's them actually saying it.

We rarely say exactly what's in our hearts & minds even in real life conversation so I'm with Lalala, take it a pinch of salt, but straight from the horse's mouth is worth something.

Sorry but I just can't be doing with it. I don't take anything I read on a web forum as gospel either. Mostly it is opinion and if you take it as such then fine. If you believe everything you read either on here, ATD, PASOTI or Twonker then you would have to be a little bit daft. Being a lovely dad does not make a footballer a wonderful player and as a season ticket holder I want to see a wonderful footballer in a winning side. The rest is just window dressing even if it is nice for his daughter. It's a bit like sitting in your front room watching a reality TV programme of a group of people sitting in a front room. Don't see it as entertaining or attractive. Sorry but I don't think I am a possible for persuading of it's merits.

They are at it again on Pasoti tonight, because someone dared say that they preferred Walton to Wotton and that they thought he'd passed his sell by date, he was accused of not being an Argyle fan .... what is it on there you either toe the party line or you are definately not an Argyle fan in their eyes <grr>

What makes people think that what is written on twitter is real life anyrate...............do people actually share their true lives with thousands of other people............stupid if they do............twitter users in the spotlight surely only say what they want people to believe, .........it can always come back to bite you if it's the truth,............ share only with your real friends in private circumstances.......not so the whole world will know.

This thread has turned into an anti twitter thread! Twitter is no different than any other website, the only difference being you can "follow" people you are interested in there. "Tweets" are not people laying down their lives for all to see as they are restricted to a short comment or sentence.

All I am saing is that Simon Walton comes across as a family man, proud father and a nice guy which kinda goes against the image portrayed on here and in other places.

No one asked anyone to "like" or "join" twitter, that is a matter of choice but why condemn those who do? Jesus!
