TBF Simon wasn't out of place to say we'd finish below 6th, most NUFC fans thought we'd finish 7-10th.

This for me. It was the manner in which he laughed it off at the time, that there was no way in hell Newcastle could do it. He's also stated on numerous occasions that we got lucky Chelsea and Liverpool have been so poor.
Newcastle are probably going to fail to land 4th , but it won't change the fact they've had a very good season..... unfortunately they'll laugh and see it as a big joke and our fans will cry, but I think we've already won. Miss out and next season they'll be fighting for 7th or 8th most likely.
You could be right but the pressure is on Liverpool now. Up until now they have been trying to get close to the top 4 with each win. They are 4 points behind with 3 games to go. They know one slip up could be it for them. All we can do is win the next game.
I'm irritated about the way the fixtures have been presented the last 2 weeks. I mean it's the way the cookie crumbles but it allowed Liverpool 3 games before we kicked a ball vs arsenal and again they play before us this week.
Tbf he is right about Liverpool and Chelsea. It's a massive opportunity for us this year now to put us well ahead of plan.
He is and he isn't, there is no doubt that both Liverpool and Chelsea have dropped off. However, we have been excellent and that is why we are where we are. The points we have accumulated up to now is on par across any season for a team in 3rd place at this stage.
Oh I'm not taking anything away from how good we have been but their form has created an opportunity. Liverpool are pushing now and making a good fist of it but Chelsea have been rank
