Who? In my mind there's just a gap at that point in the table.

I remember up to and after Grayson was sacked. You lot and the rest of the Fickle Army said good riddance. Now you've asking for him back. I've never said Grayson was the greatest manager in the world. He used far too many loans (not helped by Bates), his tactics weren't 100% (going defensive against Arsenal for last 10 mins when we knew our defence wouldn't outlast Arsenal's attack) and he left players out not long after signing them (Andy O'Brein etc) BUT he was a good manager who got a team from mid table league one to 2nd in the Championship at it's peak in less than a couple of seasons despite getting **** all in terms off funding from Bates. His last season in charge however was a shambles due to Bates selling Howson, Gradel etc and forcing him to loan half a squad of ****e (O'Dear) but despite this I never expected to see our own fans turn on him so quick. After the Watford match I heard muppets on Yorkshire Radio bitching about how it's Warnocks squad and we can't blame Bates for that...but we can. HE sold Howson, HE sold Snoddy, HE sold Gradel, HE let Beckfords contract run down, HE gave **** all in resources for Grayson and Warnock, Ironically I remember similar muppets on yorkshire radio on coach home from 4-1 loss to Barnsley bitching about how it was Graysons team and we couldn't soley blame Bates for that. History Repeats isn't that a fact.

When will our fickle simpleton fans realize that we could have ****ing pep guardiola managing us we'd still not get promoted? How can any manager be expected to be anything above mid table with a squad like ours (using 35 year old midfielders, kids barely out of school ect). I think Warnock personally has been exceptional but incredibly unlucky. Start of the season and a bit into it we were doing great (Wolves, Forest, Blackburn ect) but then we took hit after hit (McCormack, Ruddy, Green, Norris, Peace, Dury, Nunez, White, Lees, Poor Refereeing) and naturally we stopped winning games. We'd sold our top players the season and summer before, then the practically all the players below that get injured so we're left having to play absolute crap (Brown, Varney etc). Thank God Byram turned out to be a stroke of excellant luck otherwise we'd be ****ed. I'm not saying Warnock is perfect but I doubt any other manager would have been able to keep us around play offs with such a bad chairman and bad luck. Hate to praise Millwall but every season they hit a rough patch and each season I wait for em to sack Kenny Jackett (I don't like him tbh he irritates me) they never do sack him, they never have fans vocally calling for him to be sacked. They get on, they back the manager, they get over the rough patch. If we could just stay united instead of destroying our season from the inside. Injured and suspended players will return and our form would only improve with good backing and support from the fans.

KGIG, I honestly couldn't disagree more with what you have said.

While I think Bates shares blame, managers do also. Don't look at the squad, look at the man assembling the squad and how much money he has spent on it, we have actually spent a considerable amount of money in the summer. Peltier was 750k, Kenny was 500k, Pearce was 500k, Norris, Austin, Varney all commanded a fee. Thats well and truly over 2m and not including wages either, I know we sold a couple as well but he has still assembled a squad using a decent amount of money. Im not taking blame from Bates, I am putting blame on Warnock as well

On grayson, I was a HUGE grayson fan for years, I ended up believing he couldn't take us further and while I was dissapointed that he couldn't I don't think holding onto him for the sake of it was worth it, he was a good manager but he still needs to progress before being prem standard which is what we should be looking for. Warnock I have always hated though, I've always thought despite his record he is a terrible manager. Everything he does is questionable and half the time I think he is only doing it to try to be controversial rather than it being the right thing to do
