Cove's comments above give a pretty good scouting report

A little concerned about Pardew's bollocks regarding “I’m really pleased we’ve managed to get a striker early, and in particular, a striker of Siem’s type

Perhaps the board feel they not only have Cabaye's replacement but a striker as well in one fell swoop?

    I've read anywhere between £3-£7million.

7million Euros according to Lee Ryder who I think was first with the news that we were trying to push through the transfer.

Depends on if you think we are looking to replace Cabaye when he played the #10 role last season, or the seasons previous when he played as a CM. Siem De Jong will play the #10 role for us which is his best position and is more or less a striker depending on the formation being played. He'll be behind an as yet unsigned main striker.

Apparently during talks Pardew told Siem that the club were looking to make a number of other top signings this summer and would be aiming for the top four next season. He's an honest trainer is Pards.

Aye, top four of the Championship, next season. What's not true?
