I'm getting sick and bloody tired of reading articles and listening to the local media discussing our possible relegation. Archant have now published an article detailing our lack of revenue should the worst happen. Why are so many 'fans' and local media outlets doing this ? It's as if they now expect our demotion to the CCC, why talk it up FFS ! Our destiny is in our own hands, our remaining fixtures look 'easier' than those around us and I personally think we will be safe with 2-3 games left. I still think it will be Wigan who fall through the trap door, but even if it isn't I'm sure it won't be us. We are Premier League and that's where we are staying !

COME ON YOU YELLAS !OTBC ... CTI<ghost>

I'm afraid that 3 points out of a possible 18 has started alarm bells ringing. And one win out of sixteen matches is, purely and simply, relegation form.

I think we'll squeak home by the skin of our teeth, but surely you can understand those of a slightly more, erm, fragile disposition starting to get alarmed/panic?

they've nothing else to write about really, so they come up with it
no different from some of the boring articles in the nationals that appear every day about the top clubs, really it's no news.

We have only lost to Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea at home. We win tomorrow and we are home and dry!

Like all statistics they depend on how you interpret them. Whilst we have not won a lot recently we have not been beaten too often and we have a strong home record. Of our five remaining games three are at home, two are against teams lower than ourselves, one a team who have nothing to play for. One of our away games is against a team in worse form than us and if we don't get enough from those matches then we deserve to head to Man City and be relegated!

Saying you think it might happen doesn't mean you want it to happen. As Cromer says we are in trouble on the basis of current form and, as history has shown, you can't always rely on other teams losing to do you a favour. On current form we will be lucky to end on 38 points - will that be enough? I doubt it. I saw articles on the QPR board setting out how they would win 4,5 or 6 of their last 6 games and stay up. Was that a genuine optimistic forecast from a true supporter or manic wishful thinking. Pretending something won't happen doesn't make it go away and that is being realistic not pessimistic. I have seen City go down from far stronger positions than they are in now and in the same way as saying how could QPR win 6 out of 6 when they had only won 4 all season how can we just assume that we will win 2 or 3 out of 5 when we have only won 1 in the last 17? Sorry KIO for whilst I admire your optimism, and sincerely hope you are right, I remain to be convinced.

The problem is we've put ourselves in this position, when we shouldn't have done. It just leaves things wide open for all this stuff to kick off.
I may be a bit guilty as well, <holdshandsup> but in the REAL WORLD we could end up back with the binners!! As 1950 so rightly says, hopes and dreams don't do it, reality strikes and it hits f***** hard!
Come on Chris & the team, give us something to cheer about on Saturday.
Give us a goal, give us a goal........ANYONE. ANYONE!!!!!!!

Something along these lines would be a damn fine start - listen to the names mentioned in the build-up play <ok>

reading will play under less pressure than us, they are pretty much down, and from the words coming from aitkins, have accepted that.
on the other side, we should be fired up due to the arse result and seeing the u18s win

It's classic scaremongering. The EDP uses fear and scaremongering to sell newspapers to the "concerned" in the same way the nationals do.

"WHAT IF CITY GO DOWN!!!?" Sells far more papers than "CITY ARE DOING JUST FINE AND THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT!"

People can freak out if they want, we will stay up though.

True words Beef - headlines destined to shock and invite investigation /discussion/ comment are going to shift more units than a front banner that reads "Nothing much happened yesterday /today"................

We really do need to get behind them and create a great atmosphere. I am pumped up and ready to go I can't wait. Just wish the people near me would do/feel the same!

Realism says we are expecting to beat Reading Tomorrow but recent form says it looks more like a draw. 10 games ago we were thinking that Saints, wigan were winnable.
It has to be 3 points tomorrow. Anything less could mean trouble for the next game against Stoke. And to achieve that we have to give the front guys a hand. I we do that we have enough to beat Reading.

You know the old cliche that there are no easy games..... Well there are and this is it.

If you are a PL club a home game against the worst team in the league (nothing against Reading but the table does not lie) is an easy game.

I am unshakeably confident that we will score early and give them a hiding. We are due to get a bit of luck and the boys will have a full house roaring them on to victory. Hopefully other results will go our way and by Sunday we'll be 7 clear with four to go and people will all be a bit calmer.

Wasn't QPR bottom when you played them at home? and how did that turn out.

Actually we were bottom of the table when we played them at home. 2nd game of the season.
