    That Ferdinand transfer capped off a successful week imo. Looking dicey without a CB at one stage.

    Top side Brix. I'll frame that.

    Faurlin Barton

    SWP Tarbs DJ

    [interesting how we've probably now for 3 players who we HAVE to play. Tarbs and Joey would go ape-sh*t if they didn't start(imagine moving from newcastle to little QPR and playing on the bench..), and i'd imagine SWP would be highly put out to be a benchmark signing attracted by the prospect of regular starts, and not start). I couldn't see Bothroyd putting up with not starting for too long either..
    Given that, and the fact we're probably unanimous on the back 5, there are only really 2/3 max positions to play with..]

    Ditto, was tossing up over Derry and Ali, but went for more grit. Pop Mackie into the equation sometime soon too.

    Just gonna go and get some shades..

    It's a squad game though Grif... prem needs more rotation than we've been used to. Whilst we've got a small enough batch of probables for most to get a regular start, Warnock's got just about enough talent available to get off his knees to Taarabt and start calling the shots proper.

    Imo the hard player to drop will be Barton - unless he misbehaves.

    I think Warnock will stick with 4-2-3-1:

    Kenny;

    Young, Ferdinand, Gabbidon, Traore;

    Derry, Barton;

    SWP, Taarabt, DJ;

    Bothroyd.

    I wouldn't be surprised at some point to see Faurlin replace Taarabt as a central playmaker if Adel spits the dummy out which seems inevitable at some point. The thing is we now have so many options with quality...

    Like your line-up Sooper; though probably put Smith in DJ's position and let Bothroyd and DJ slug it out for top spot (good battle there!). Looks like a reasonable prem team.
    And the Jan window is only 3 months away, so good enough time to evaluate where we are!

    It will still be tough as we don't quiet have the quality in depth that other teams are now starting to get in their squads. But it should be more than enough to get us through to January and if things are looking safe, then I'm sure Warnock will get some more marquee signings to bolster things up.

    I think the system we played at Everton is our best bet with 3 in the midfield and two wingers as opposed to two midfielders, Taarabt virtually up front and two wingers which saw us picked off against Bolton.

    ..................Kenny............................

    Young....Gabbidon..Ferdinand...Traore

    ..................Derry.........................
    ............Barton...Faurlin..................

    SWP......................................Taarabt

    .................Campbell.........................

    That's assuming the virus hasn't killed Campbell.

    Can Young or Traore play centre back? Once the inevitable injuries and suspensions kick in we look a bit thin here, but with Dyer, or in desperation Orr/Hill a bit more depth at FB

    So excited last night talking to my brother and dad about what I reckon could be our first 11;

    Kenny

    Young Gabbidon Ferdinand Traore

    Wright-P Barton Smith

    Taraabt
    Boothroyd Campbell

    Quite rightly they pointed out that means no spot for Faurlin and Derry, but we'll need a strong bench as well. Also a lot of flexibility in there to change it around and go more or less defensive.

    I can see NW mixing a 4-2-3-1 formation with the occasional 442. He has the players at his disposal to do this, and this would probably work against some team better than others. Plus if Adel throws toys out of the pram or decides that he wants to move in Jan than we have players that can fit in.
