I find this quite interesting, Spurs need to sell in order to buy which means they must be sure of some leaving. I wonder is the Defoe stories could be true. I was thinking Anton knows him from West Ham could he talk him into a move up here. I would definitely make a move for Krancjar too. 6m cheaper that nzog and better in my mind. I don't think Quinn needs to say anything about Gyan because the player himself has said he is staying.
he's doing the best thing for his club, ie he is setting out his stall and saying "we don't need to sell, we don't want to sell". modric may well force his hand, but seeing as the lad has five years left on his contract, levy will be able to wait for a very big offer. he's also appeasing the fans - if modric does go, it's because he's the villain of the piece, agitating for a move and forcing levy and redknapp to sell him. all one big square dance if you ask me, and every club (except for real madrid, sitting pretty at the top of the pile) goes through it at some point when a bigger boy wants one of their players. quinn has sold two of our better players because he felt that both offers were huge, never to be bettered, for two players who would be off at some point anyway, and looked at what he could do with the money. whether he was right or not, time will tell. the onus is on him and bruce to spend that money wisely, and if we do better next season than the one just gone, he will be justified in his actions.
Like the way Quinn does things on the quiet, we don't hear much till it happens. Once you start making public statements a lack of response can say the wrong thing which in the long run wouldn't settle my nerves. Reckon the Gyan situation is straightforward, he's going nowhere unless we get a Bentesque offer in which case we cash in and move on. Making statements just agitates things unless absolutely necessary IMO
