We are not considered by media as important but the case was very important (in a bad way) news in football - I just feel we ain't heard the last of it all - but hope I'm wrong

It's already fish and chips wrapping mate.

It'll all die down until his appeal kicks off.

Lol - but more like negative realism - which often happens with Sunderland <doh> but onwards on our rollercoaster - in premier league next season <cheers>

Just seen NewsNow Web site - Roker Sources deny Short wants out - smells of dirt digging by some scurrilous national press on original story - <steam> - it's a good job we number many solid down to earth fans to take this - no pretentiousness here

I'd love to hear the thoughts of @Lostinvegas on this, what he's heard and he thinks personally. :)

Still locked under the stairs BBP?

I told you, just tell her she looks lovely, even if you don't mean it.

Sorry for the late response on this, believe it or not I am currently in Vegas but got here via Australlia and then LA.

I was working with the guy that knows Short last week and he did not mention this to me, however we had a very busy week and so did not talk football. I am working with him again in Paris in 2 weeks time so will ask the question if I get the chance. (usually takes a few beers to get him talking football).

My personal feelings are Short has had enough, but that was probably the case a while ago, I was told back in September that he had lost almost all interest in Sunderland and that would only change if results picked up.

From my point of view the guy has not invested enough in the right people managing the football side of things. Off the field in terms of concerts, events, corporate hospitality, ticket pricing, advertising, corporate investment etc... I think Short has done great things for the club. On the football side he has been naive. To get top quality players you have to pay big money, if you are based in the north east you have to pay even bigger money, because the best players all want to live in London. He has penny pinched recently and who can blame him after the MON debacle. He spent money under Bruce who let's face it did ok at first. Then for some unknown reason we sold Bent, Gyan and let Welbeck go back to Manchester without even trying to buy him. Everyone says Man U would never have sold? if we had offered 15m they might have done.

We need an owner who understands the NE and the size of the fan base. With better players and results the SOL could be full every week. The problem is that person need to be prepared to lose a lot of money in the initial years. TV money is massive but we are losing almost a million a game compared to say Arsenal, because our ticket prices are much much lower. Economically were stuffed because of our location, we have to pay more for players (and their wages) but our income is lower because as a region we are worse off.

Its a problem for Short no doubt, the thing is with BSA I think we are close to a more stable side and situation. It needs more investment but IF (and its a big if) we stay up and we keep Sam I think we will be ok next season as long as Short invests the TV money.

I play golf here in Abu Dhabi with a lawyer who has Short as a client for some of his business interests in the Middle East. He tells me that Short is very passionate about SAFC and never shown any signs of wanting out. But like I told my mate here, you don't get that rich and far up the food chain if you don't keep your cards close to your chest. I would think if a suitable offer came in he would be off like a shot.

For sure. Would you blame him?

All this Short is passionate about SAFC stuff imo is complete bollocks.

He's a dodgy yank with cash. Why should he give a flying **** about some soccer team in the north of england.

I reckon he regrets every moment of it. A deal gone wrong.

Just a sound engineer mate, most of what I do now is production management for FIA Formula E, the owner and staff all previously worked in football.
