Keep at it, you will get there. Think about previous comments like what did Jose win before Porto, Fergie before Aberdeen and then think Moyes before United. Every great manager gets their first trophy somewhere.
I agree DL! I have been thinking this for years now; could not understand why all these big businessmen were investing heavily in football clubs. Of course I am aware part of it is laundering, however I have a feeling the chess pieces are being lined up all across Europe ready for a 'Super League', will probably also be sold in part as a way of saving football from financial oblivion. A way to sell to the masses and bypass the traditionalists is to make it seem its the only way to save the game and vast amounts of clubs from going bust.
Nice of you to ignore the majority of my post and focus on only 1 detail! Its not random to compare Evertons prem average finish with Moyes average. Since the prem began Everton have been in major financial hardship, so in actual fact it is more relevant than your comparing of 100 years of history. Which by the way Moyes compare favourably as 4th best in terms of win percentage. The fact is how Everton performed pre-Moyes is entirley relevant as it provides CURRENT perspective in which to accurately compare, not an overall history which is just ridiculous, the prem league has put football in to an entirely different context. Moyes record shows that compared to his predecessors who had similar resources, he has turned the club around. Pre-Moyes Everton were probably operating on a par with the resources they had, with Moyes they are obviously operating above par. Where honestly do you expect Everton to finish? Above yourselves, City, Utd, Arsenal...... thats already 4 clubs, so the best he could ever hope to achieve realistically is an average of 5th, then you have Spurs and Liverpool who have far more resources than Moyes has ever had...... now we are 6 clubs down and we can see Moyes is about exactly where you would expect him to be. So really Moyes is probably one of the best in achieving what is expected of him. At some point Chelsea, Utd, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool (for sure) have all underperformed with the resources available....... yet Moyes consistently delivers what is REALISTIC to deliver within the confines of what he has available. Care to respond, point by point........... thought not!
I focused on the detail I first raised that you first tried to dispel and then tried to cloud with blah blah blah. So, once again, Below Average Moyes is a correct and factual title for him. Boom boom.
You appear to have missed the point but unlike Moyes, Jose and Fergie weren't at top flight teams and in a position to win trophies and neither was in management anywhere near as long as Moyes before winning a trophy. Keep up, you'll get there
Indeed but fergie inherited a ready made team in Billy McNeill's Aberdeen and made few changes. In fact McNeill had the better win ratio and was the better of the two in my book.
I shouldn`t really need to say this but Moyes came from PRESTON to an Everton team facing relegation with virtually no resources and manage to make them into a top ten team (averaging eigth just in case you didn`t know) this means he had very little chance of winning trophys.

McNeill was at Aberdeen for a year and Ferguson went on to overcome his Celtic team. He obviously was not the better of the two and I doubt you know much or anything about either.
My money is on Chelsea failing to make the champions league that's easy money and im not even on a wind up.
I'd be more worried about you making the champions league. Moyes will probably be extra defensive and play not to lose rather than win..
Despite a season of turmoil we finished 3rd, only 3 points off 2nd. With a better team there's not a chance we won't make top 4, especially with Jose here.
