Have I jumped to the conclusion that he is staying...just because PAFC produced a retained list the next day after failing to make a Wembley final ? The list probably was pencilled in before the Shrewsbury game....because we could have failed to have made the play-offs .....I know that that would have been a dramatic disaster....but it could have happened. Ok we made it and then failed because we couldn't defend set pieces....a team with a good defensive record started leaking defendable goals....what a twist of fate. Would Banton have been still on the list if he had scored an hat-trick and got us to Wembley ? Would Blizzard have been on that list if he had done the same ? Who drew the lists up.....Sheridan or his bosses.....did he recommend who should be kept or released.....did he or was he told ? The club released the lists...and the owner James Brent thanked all for their efforts etc......do we know where Sheridan was.....was he at Home-Park thanking each player for their efforts this season ?.....or had he driven home to Sheffield after the match....to consider his future......who knows the facts. If he was considering his future why did the list get released so quickly....ok everyone needs to know if they've got a job or not....but did it have to be planned to fit in with the final game of the season ? Some players would have been on the released list anyrate.....but some might not be listed so soon if there was the possibility of a new manager. Banton has been infuriating at times....the promise of what he might do....was Sheridan capable of getting that performance out of him......we have never really seen it since his first time here.....maybe he only came back because others had failed to draw out his potential and felt too much effort was required. But taking all that into account was it right to put him immediately on the released list....I don't think so.....maybe he might flourish with a new manager in charge at PAFC ? So are we waiting on Sheridan to decide his own future....or have PAFC got the balls to make up their own mind that Sheridan stays or doesn't anymore come up to the aspirations of the club and pay him off......if they keep him because they cannot afford to move him on then we are in the words of "Dads Army"...doooooomed to struggle for another season ....or two.....or three.....or.....
