No F***ing way. I'm sure Ashley slags off Newcastle fans behind closed doors, but at least he has the half-a-brain required not to get caught.

They're lucky they've got Sutch a good advisor.

I'd prefer Shepherd to Ashley. Would we have ever gone bust under Freddy Shepherd, maybe maybe not. All I know is that he gave us the best times, alongside Keegan's entertainers, int eh modern era. I was far more passionate about NUFC back then than I am now.

Ashley is the best we're going to get currently as an owner. He just needs to put a qualified management team in place and step away, giving his MD a clear and reliable idea of what to expect in terms of finances.

I'd feel better knowing there was an agreed repayment term for the loan he's made to the club, even if that meant scraping by for a few years. What riles me is the uncertainty of this money he's got over us, knowing he can spend nowt in window after window and justify it in terms of the loan he's made. Just get us debt free within the Premiership within 5-7 years say, and then run the club within its means.

If a responsible owner with money to spend and a decent business plan makes overtures, the picture changes completely of course. But as long as it's just mouthy grasping slime like Shephard, stick with Ashley for pity's sake!
