    It appears we approached QPR to bring Shaun Derry back on loan. QPR decided against this taking place and have named Derry in their 25 man squad.

    No worries, we have Austin instead.

    Based on recent comments by NW, he would have preferred Austin to Derry a couple of years ago while at QPR.

    Plus Austin will have a resale value. Might come in handy in a few months when the creditors start calling. Derry must be getting on by now. He looked forty when we had him

    We also have Thompson which is 6 for 2 positions, all of which I think are good enough to at the very least fill in for a couple games during suspensions and injuries. How many defensive midfielders do we need though? If we were to sign another midfielder, it'd need to be a creative one surely?

    Lots of average isn't going to be good enough, whether we're well-covered or not.

    You're right, a playmaker there is sorely lacking.

    2 problems though.

    1. we have no money for any decent loans
    2. there are very few suitable players left out of 25 man squads
