Shameful isn't the word I'd use. Absolutely criminal would be. Anyone at the club in a position to know wasn't merely negligent; they were complicit.
In the early days It is in an era where youngsters were not always believed when reporting such horrors. The board have no excuse for not looking into the complaints which were obviously made at times

Makes me sick how much abuse was going on back then and everyone turning a blind eye to it. Just horrifying how all these people had to suffer in silence.
It’s just heartbreaking to think that even if they reached out to someone at the club for help, the culture was to ignore them. Just awful.
And he stayed in football for years after leaving Saints, and got away with it elsewhere too. How did it manage to happen so many times, in multiple institutions over 20 odd years. Almost unbelievable. Could, and should, have been stopped on so many occasions.
