Do you think that we should buy JDG and if so how much do you think he is worth? He had a lot of flack in the early days but i think he has settled in and is important to our team. I like him and think £4-5 mill is fair!
Not sure how to value him, but definitely think he would be a good acquisition. He is on loan now from a club that was relegated out of La Liga. His value will all depend on how much time he has on that contract. I would presume that we could construct an agreement whereby he joins us once his Spanish contract expires or at the end of this season for whatever residual is on his Spanish contract.
He will be ours if just based on the fact that Villarreal are not in the automatic promotion placings (3 go up), the scary financial situation in Spain especially in the Segundo, he can get more money/ guaranteed to get paid, he wants to play for Laudrup, his goals from midfield make up for the occasional non committal in the tackle that he has to change, and we can get get him for a relative bargain in Prem terms. He is on contract til 2016 with Villarreal but that can be a burdon to them as much as a benefit.....can they afford to keep him? £2 to £3 million and i say yes..unless Sir Mike knows of something better. Cannot see HJ standing in the way if ML says "si".
Should sign him no doubt. Been one of our best players this season and I think we have yet to see the best from him.
Of course we should, anyone that thinks he aint worth sigining hasnt been watching the swans this season!! He has done well and deserves a contract with us, how much he is worth is difficult to say, using the Joe allen sliding rule of transfers he is worth £6m as he has already scored more than Joe and made more assits than him
Sign him because there is a lot more to come from him. But not now! He is contracted on loan for all our remaining games anyway, so why dip into our transfer kitty now when we can sign him at the end of the season? I doubt he will go anywhere else at that time. He is settled here, plays regularly, wants to be with Laudrup and, hopefully, we will have a lot more cash to splash in May. I'd keep our funds right now to buy as much quality as we can, to try and ensure we stay in this league.
Buy him in the summer. There must be a pre-arranged fee for him already written into his loan contract. He has settled well and is getting better. Also he is versatile; can play in the hole, in the middle or on the flanks, plus he is loving here (check out his tweets!). He won't be as cheap as Michu because he was already a relatively big name but £3-5m would be fair.
Think we will sign De Guzman in the summer for £5 Million, unless his contract left is small could even go for lower, though it was never revealed what Villarreal payed for him, but some punters speculated that it was around €8.5 million Euro's, anyway I agree that what we lose in passing, we gain in goal threat, he is very relaxed in front of goal and pretty accurate too!..............
