need him to stay he is our main man and with another good midfielder or two and a striker that actually stays around the box area (like Fletcher) I think Sess would be even better we have never had a player like Sess while I have been following the lads, how much would it cost us to get a replacement that links the play from the midfield to the frontman like he does? Atleast 15m? Every player has there price and if I was the club I wouldn't even consider anything under 25m, he might not be worth that but he makes the team tick and to us he is worth that
i agree its what hes worth to us not to the club buying him. if fat mike can squeeze 35 mill out of mandy carroll we can get 25 for sess. and it just isnt the fact of finding another player like sess, its getting him up here, getting him settled and keeping him happy. we have sort of done this with sess if hes happy to stay so why start the process over again?
exactly, I think if he does stay he will be even better this year, MoN will have his own team and it will be built around Sess IMO, we all know Bruce's tactics were rubbish, when MoN has his team for the start of the season playing the way he wants them to Sess will be better than last season IMO, think he will get at least 10goals for us. Have to say Sess was one of Brucie's best signings along with Bent and Mig IMO, Sess probs being the best value for money signing at 6m!!! That's why the club should pay more interest in other leagues around Europe, there is cracking value for money out there
hopefully he can get his family over and get them settled. him saying he has unfinished business means hes going to give us at least another season. if he does i agree he will get more goals and hit double figures, he certainly has the ability and having a full year of the premiership behind him he can only get better
Do you think Ellis will cash in though, say, hypothetically, for £10-15m? Aye, I know WE wouldn't but will Short?
Short seems to me like he will leave it up to the manager. If MoN would rather have the player than the money then I think it would be fine with Short. both Short and MoN are perfect for us
i also think it would be left upto mon. short doesnt seem to get involved in football issues. we should be thankfull we have him, we could be stuck with a media whore like dave whealen who will comment on anything
I hope you are both right but I kind of get the feeling Bruce had players sold from under him, ala Bent & Gyan.
The whole Sess debate is becoming tiresome imo. The 'will he ......won't he' saga should have been put to bed by the player before now, and the fact he hasn't made a definitive interview to state his position, despite huge speculation otherwise, tells me he too is hedging his bet. It strikes me that his heart lies elsewhere not here and therefore we should plan accordingly. What we cannot allow is a Judas scenario where he leaves in August and no replacement can be sought. If he can't commit to us publicly in the next couple of weeks, then I'm all for selling at a massive profit. I don't want any player who's heart and mind are not 100% with us. His performance will plummet next season if if is forced to stay against his will and his value will plummet likewise.
