I doubt we will get any more than two players in January, a CB and LB. Might even be loan rather than permanent...we may be desperate for additions but January isn't an easy nut to crack, especially if our position in the league remains precarious.
I think we need a defensive midfielder, centre back and left back. As for suggestions as to who, I'm not entirely convinced by Kjaer seems to have gone off the boil in the last year and a half, but is still young and no doubt he has potential. Might be worth trying a loan with option to buy kind of deal. I see M'Vila has been told he will never play for Rennes again because of his attitude, might be worth a sneaky loan bid . As for left back I don't have a clue tbh
I wasn't on the Kjaer train purely because I thought he wouldn't join us, but if his relationship with Magath is frosty then maybe, though I'd assume there'd be more glamorous competiton.
Well he had a poor last season with Roma so I think that might put bigger teams off him if he's seen as a gamble, but he looked solid in the Euros and he's still very young for a defender so I think he'd be worth a punt.
Apparently they didn't sign him permanently because he "made too many costly mistakes", but I think it's quite clear that he's been better than that and will be better than that again. Also he's still clearly better than all our current centre backs. Speaking of teams trying to offload players, Lyon's manager has said he'll have to sell some players in January to balance the books. Apparently they're having some financial troubles. So, who do we like from them? Dejan Lovren? Anthony Reveillere? Bakary Koné?
I like how he corrects your spelling mistakes but adds a white space before the comma and before the full stop. Genius.
Not to me, it isn't! Think we could get by with any two out of a defensive MC/RB/CB. Part of the problem is that we are weak down the flanks. Then we try to cover the flanks and we are weak down the "centre" Optimally, you want to be strong everywhere of course but that is a tough task in a January transfer window on a new Premier League side looking at relegation. I feel like there is a bit of is a snowball effect where if you are weak in two areas, you're really weak everywhere but if you are weak in one area, maybe you can just remain weak in that one area. It's not going to get you to Europe, but it could avoid relegation. If you can at least limit your weakness to just one area of the pitch then at least it forces the other team to have a good player in our area of weakness to exploit it. And you can come up with a tactic to try and funnel the opposition away or the players at least can anticipate where problems will arise.
How much in the summer to how much in the Winter ? I thought he was a go getter business man ? That was an opening to the Premiership he wont forget , us neither as we have done that for years .
I did not say center is incorrect , it is an Americanism not usually used in British writing . I do it sometimes but get pulled by the likes of Joe , you see when you have nothing better to say in the internet you pull the old (circa 1996) grammar card .
Oh Joseph , dont resort to that , you know I appreciate you pointing out every spelling error like a over zealous dog every 5 minutes , I thought you would like it ?
