Looks like theres deffo sumit happening regarding Hendo like, rumors everyday about this!

Think if we sell him it would be a huge mistake!

Now ive been critical of the lad on a few occasions but the more i think about the club selling him the more i think its a bad idea even if we got 25 mill+ for him! Hes a young england international with a full season in the prem under his belt, doesnt seem to be made of glass as hes rarely injured, is getting better and better and got probably 15 years left in his career! If Liverpool do suceed then they will be getting a bargain!

What worries me too is how we seem to get propper screwed over on selling players! Bent had to go coz he was being a greedy twat but for ****s sake we held all the aces and should of held out for more and should of had Carew in return as cover and we should of said pay the whole lot up front!! With jones we got 8 mill over 4 years then Pulis goes on SkySports and tells the world the details of the aqusition and makes us look like mugs!

Quinn and Bruce have both said they want to build the team around Henderson so if they sell then its all bollocks!

I say get the lad into the boardroom, offer him what he deserves say 40000 a week and make him sign new contract and tell Liverpool to stump up atleast the same they offered for Caroll or **** off!

If we sell Hendo we can get used to mediocre seasons coz it would show we are just a selling club with no true aspirations to succeed!

Don't want to sell Henderson, but we will, once the price is right.

40,000 a week? Madness he's done nothing to deserve that. We've got him tied down for another four years. I agree we need to keep him but giving him a 100% pay rise smacks of desperation.

Im not really saying he deserves 40000 a week, no one does but unfortunatley thats the munimum you would pay a good prem midfielder so if we increased his wage but not to silly amounts then his head would not be turned maybe!

Its really not up to the club which is sad but true if Hendo does WANT to go we really have to sell him.

I dont think we should keep any player who does not want to play for us.(Not saying Henderson has said he wants to leave)
but its whats happening in football contracts dont mean a thing.

So for me if he wants to go sell him if he dont keep him.

Like Kenwyne Jones? Ellis Short and Quinn need to show some strength here.

He is the type of player we need to build on. Dalgleish is a good judge of player and watch him cull the dross at Anfield. SAFC need to build not sell. I say keep him.

If this turns out to be true and Jordan Henderson is sold to Liverpool or Manchester United, I suspect that there may well be a backlash from disgruntled fans. It was suggested on another thread that Steve Bruce would not be receiving any of the Darren Bent transfer money and would have to sell to strengthen the squad.

Now some of you will be aware that I am not Steve Bruce's biggest fan, however, if the two rumours turn out to be true, I really hope that Niall Quinn comes forward in defence of Steve Bruce and doesn't hang the manager out to dry in front of angry fans.

If it was for a ****load of money I would say that selling him would absolutely be the right option. Selling one player doesn't make us a selling club, Man U sold Ronaldo who was arguably their best player for years.

    Spurs fan in peace

As things currently stand Lpool have nothing more to offer Henderson than Sunderland do other than possible wages. If Manu come calling and fergie starts bending his ear about how he will figure in the united team for champions league games then thats a different story, but if you could do a swap deal for say Wellbeck and Cleverly then it would be decent. Selling to pool would be a disaster and show your owner has no desire to be in europe or improve you as a club, there a club in transition you need to be thinking about toppling them not strengthening them.

Also what would it say to the rest of the players in your team, and how long before you sell Gyan to a club such as Bolton purely because tyhey are showing more ambition than you.

Great post mate and spot on. We should be treating Liverpool as an equal, not as a superior club.

Very well put & hopefully the toughts of most. I can't see what he'd gain from Liverpool this year by going there but ManU yes. At the end of the day as they say 'Money talks" but hopefully not quite yet!

Man u and Liverpool obviously see the lads potential. I say give him a new contract to keep him here. If he turns out to be a top player in 4, 5 or 6 years time then we can cash in if he wants to move on.......if he,s still any good of course.

    Can't compare Liverpool to Bolton,

Liverpool Will finish in the top 4 next season, they can offer Henderson more money,Daglish is building a team full of young english talent and henderson will excel amongst them.

I don't want Henderson to be sold, but starting to resign myself to the fact that he May be off. but until i hear it from bruce, or jordan himself saying he doesn't want to stay, i'm not buying it.
