Im a newcastle fan here in peace. My mum supports Sunderland so although i always want a win in the derby i have no animosity. I have kept an eye on sunderland and I just cant understand his selection policy. Surely its clear Richardson is not a defender and I actually think he would do a good job left wing. He's been costing goals. I like sessegnon but think it'd be better him and gardner in a diamond. I like gardner but Im yet to be convinced last years goals tally wasnt the exeption rather than the norm. Also I was gutted when you signed Whickam because I think hes brilliant. And i think Bendtner is a very good signing too but I would want them both playing or even the korean as he's looked lively but definitely 2 strikers. What do you think? By the way dropping Cattermole was a greaat decision reminds me of smith at our place. A yellow card and he's not worth having.
Nice one Ben, join us more often, glad your mums a Sunderland supporter, and being from Alnwick it would be a prety hard time youd be having , if you were a Sunderland fan.
Selection........pass, as it's anyone's guess.. Bet your mum was impressed at you joining the dark side..
Thing is Ben - prior to kick off on Monday night we all told Bruce to keep the same team - and then the match started and we all wanted Richardson and Bramble substituting after 15 minutes!! Funny game this football
You are quite correct mate, Bruce's selection process is abysmal, I realise we all agreed on him not changing a winning team but it was clear after 10 minutes the other night that it wasn't working. Bruce is either very stubborn or he can't see what 40,000 of us are seeing every week, surely he must give the fans some credit for some football knowledge. I'm a great believer in the saying's ' every man to his job ' and ' never try to do someone else's job for him' but with Bruce I have to make an exception. The silliest thing about it is that Quinny is sitting there watching as well, surely he has some input into it. I don't think that Short has a football brain but anyone that has played the game at any level can see what Bruce is doing wrong at the moment. I fear the worst if we are beaten this weekend and the crowd turns against the manager and team. Having said all that I still believe that he was badly let down by the players the other night.
If the Norwich game proved anything it was the following: 1) Good width play from even average fullbacks and wingers can cause damage, and this is an area we seem lacking.......for quite a while. 2) Richardson, goal aside, was terrible and wouldnt get anywhere near the team for me at the moment, he had a shocker! 3) Bardsley is a massive miss for our defence. 4) Taking off your set piece taker, Larson, when bringing on 'taller' players and being 2 nill down is not a smart move. Id love to see the Irish winger we signed play at the weekend with Bendtner and Wickham up front, but i dont think Bruce will go with that.
