There is one outfield player who is pretty much guaranteed a start when fit, Zak Whitbread. He must have played the highest percentage of minutes available this year

Agreed. But once Ayala is fully fit and Ryan Bennett has been blooded I think the situation will revert to "normal" for PL.

It started off that we were relegation certainties.

Then it was 'we'll do a Blackpool'.

Now we are talking about Second Season Syndrome.

How about second season pushing onwards and upwards?

I'm just living for the moment and it's damn good.

With the real possibility of finishing eighth this season, do you really think we can go further upwards? It will be a tough ask and maybe not a realistic chance.

That's kind of my Point Redruth. Who knows what we can achieve? Going back further in time We lost 1-7 at home and sacked the Manager Lawrenson said we'd be relegated. Guess what, we won the League instead. We were told we'd really struggle in the Championship. We got automatic promotion. Words like miracle were bandied about. So imagine finIshing our first season back in th Prem comfortably mid-table. It's just been one amazing upward curve. Who knows how long it will go on for but let's remember to enjoy it right now and to hell with next season.

As long as you add quality while keeping your core team you'll be fine

Second season Syndrome is in the mind I think. I expect similar ups and downs next season, thats football basically.

I must admit I advocate living in the now also. I've never been a fan of the Prem though, as unambitious as that might sound, and its associated greed, hype, plastic supporters and reliance on TV money. I am desperately hopeful that we never join in the grubby shenaigans that go with its membership.
