Couldn't have hoped for a better fixture to start our new assault on the Championship, its going to be a cracking game, of that I am thoroughly confident.
But the two clubs have contrasting fortunes when starting their seasons. Leeds have lost once in 22 years on the opening day, whilst we have registered but one win on the opening day of the season in that same time! Is that really true? I'm casting my mind back, but thats a stat that needs some work..........

    .......starting today!

It's not as bad as once in 22 years, I'm sure of that. Surely?

possible. 1999 was our last at Coventry and I remember that was the first for a while. Didn't we beat West Ham 4-0 on the first game once, but that may have been late 80's.... in which case it is 20 years +

Don't know how we ended up with such a dreadful record on the first day...unless we always play scared! We are a different team now. NC and NA have changed our attitude, but I'm not going to judge us on day 1. A win won't make us champions (though will greatly boost confidence) and a loss won't make us relegation fodder. I'm looking for a decent start over first few games and would hope we never flirt with relegation during the whole season.

Just remember Norwich 2 years back. Lost 7-1 and walked the league to go up as champions.

Bit early in season to start looking at entrails of sheep, but us fans are always looking for omens. All in all though, I'd rather not lose 7-1 today.
