Normally begins in August and ends about May ! ....... and I've had it for the last 62 'seasons.'

So - which of you Gills fans are not feeling depressed ? Any joy in your life won't have been gleaned from watching 'recent' games ((( in the dictionary, the noun Recent has been increased to represent another week after each game ! )))

Two years ago - when we had a Dictator in charge, my sons and I had reached a point ( about November in 2022) , when we didn't want to come to Priestfield any more !... The team were rock bottom of L2 and losing games every week... The performances were dire and there seemed to be no passion by the players......... does this sound familiar ?

History will show that the Galinson's came in and took 70% control of the Club... We got a couple of new players in January 2023 and began to play at promotion levels ...

Last season , Gills started with four 1-0 wins.... and then lost 0-3 at home to bottom club Colchester ((( at least Gills are being consistent against the bottom clubs this year. ))) - then the season fizzled out.

This season started off like Groundhog Day.... and fans were crowning us Champions in September !... BUT - - - well, you all know what's been happening - if anything, it has been worse than than 2022/23 let alone last season.

I had a bit of respite from my S.A.D in October - with 3 weeks in Florida.... It was partly spoilt when watching Gills at Bradford as my family sat down for breakfast ( 10 am ) -- and I decided a day at Hollywood Studio was better than suffering the Swindon rubbish.

So - this years' S.A.Depression for me has come a tiny bit later - we're not even close to the half-way stage in the season - yet both sons and ME do not want to come to Priestfield again this season..... Can you blame us - when you get proper entertainment from teams like Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal ((( and, as a Spurs fan - saying THAT about the Gunners is not easy. )))..... Even the non-league teams in last weekend's FA Cup matches provided more entertainment and played with much passion..

.....passion - it's all I ask of the Gills players - because I know they have limited ability.... I don't see much passion and precious little entertainment---- which ( in footballing terms ), at Priestfield, I found myself, in recent games actually hoping that the opposition would keep hold of the ball - rather than The Gills. ... I find myself actually enjoying watching the opponents move the ball quickly and with greater skill (( even the likes of Harrogate )) .......Wow - I bet you didn't think I was that sick !

........Saturday, my S.A.D might just become 'terminal.'

Was looking very gloomy with our poor recent form. Fortunately we have won last 2 games by working hard as a team. I have a season ticket but don't enjoy matches that often and could easily not bother if something else is happening at the same time. Lucky I live çlose otherwise no way would I bother.

gioblues - I totally understand.... In my case, it's a 100 mile journey - just for Home games - so, time is very much a factor.... or rather, a waste of time - when I could be doing something more pleasurable... There have been too many times in the 62 years of coming to Priestfield, when I have only done so out of blind faith - when all reason told me that I am mad............ I have absolutely no desire to watch ' Strictly' or ' I'm a Celebrity' on television - but - I am sure that, to many people, these programs provide much more entertainment that Gills..... these televisual 'feasts' could never be in my blood !
