Before anyone starts having ago at me for posting this... i know this is not related to anything going on at the moment to do with the club, im just looking for peoples opinions and suggestions thats all Okay so here's the thing Im getting a season ticket, its 240 for a season ticket in the family stand... and 340 for behind goals and wings... So basically i would like a seat in itchen north which would cost me 340.. But then again i could go for the cheap option and get a seat in the family end because either way i would be watching every home game but the thing is should i sacrifice game atmosphere for a cheaper season ticket? Because as we all know Chapel is the quietest end of the stadium... So yeah what are your suggestions, go for the cheaper option and sacrifice atmosphere or go for the more expensive option and have the atmosphere..
I'd go for the more expensive one if I were you. The atmosphere in the family stand is even worse than the Chapel as it's full of kids with high-pitched voices! I saw the Preston and Watford games there in 2007 and it was horrible - never went back.
i dont think you do.. A couple of mates got tickets for that area for the pompey game and they didnt get questioned about it
Thank you And i can understand what your saying about the kids, my brother went with his gf and they sat there (shes got a kid) and he said it was the worse football experience he ever had lol
In some ways it's a no brainer.......Surely it depends on what you can afford. If price is not an issue then why would you want to go into the family end? The family enclosure is what it is and that is for familys. Although granted it doesn't mean you cannot have a season ticket for there. However it is not designed as a cheaper area for broke students. It's for Family's...........
I agree with Beddytare. If money isn't a big issue, then go for the area with the better atmosphere as then you'll enjoy the games more and get better value for money. Maybe if you go for the more expensive one, then you could maybe spend less on programmes and food and stuff.
Yeah i know and understand what your saying, the price isnt an issue.. well it sort of his but theres ways of getting around it... but its just im getting it with a couple of mates so it would sort of depend on them too.. Because i dont particularly fancy getting a season ticket on my own while friends of mine are watching the game together... if you get what i mean?
I would have thought your mates would want to go for the atmosphere, especially if you are together. Fran is right about the Family end though. I am not sure you would get a season ticket. You might get individual tickets sold during the season as they would not want empty seats. Only then if no other seats were available. So for a season ticket the cheaper option may not be on anyway.
Have always paid to sit in the Family Enclosure. Then come kick off, if it's not busy just walk along the bottom of the stand and sit somewhere else.
Lol smart! Not sure you'll get away with it in the Premier League though - there may not be many empty seats...
I would be loving life if the more expensive option for me was £340! I'm jealous! £600 + each for me and my gf! Ouch!!!!
People go on about all the bad things about the Chapel, but for me there is one big advantage - most of the time Saints kick towards the Chapel in the 2nd half. Saints generally score more in the 2nd half so you get more goalmouth action sitting in the Chapel.
:O thats alot! and yeah 340 is the more expensive option that i want... but the most expensive overall is around 700 if not even more than that!
As I can't go to enough matches to warrant a ST, I will get premium tickets when I can go. Have never liked the view from behind the goals...midline Kingsland for me. In the excitement of the last game I promised my son we would go hospitality again for the 1st match I can make next season. As the Coventry game cost me £180, I dread to think what it will cost. Good chunk of a season ticket I suspect.
Last season i had a season ticket in block 26 which is the family enclosure and if i get one this year it's where i'll be going. The bad points are: Hardly any singing! Get looked at like you're a zombie if you sing or chant! Kids sometimes muck about in front of you but i think that only happened once with me. The good points: Normally have the 2nd half down our end! Not a big concourse so it doesn't get too crowded Less idiots who can't handle their drink! If you want atmosphere don't go to the family enclosure! if you just want to watch the matches in peace then go to the family enclosure. I'm only going back because it's the cheapest option but if money was of no object i'd be in the Northam with the noisy lot!
