I'm on holiday in Florida and wanted to see Orlando City play DC United, but our lass would have none of it, anyway, I went to see the Rolling Stones last Friday at the same stadium, the Citrus Bowl, £8.50 a pint, yes £8.50 for **** beer, anyway, the Orlando City lot have a Ultra section, they meet up hours before the game to get bevvied up, then march to the ground al la Palace, all a bit soppy I know, but when in the stadium, go for it big style, flares, smoke bombs, massive flags, threatening singing, and best of all they all stand up, all game, singing, all game.

The club Orlando CITY, encourage this support and make sure one end of the stadium is for Ultra members only, I tell you the Yanks love English "soccer" in a few years it will be bigger than the Prem, in fact more people watch the PL on TV over here than they do in England.

Pity Allam didn't come over and learn how Americans market a sport, all that being said, I ****ing love the football league, because the PL is ****ing **** unless your any good

Erm, they market it by moving clubs and renaming them at will, to where they think they'll get the biggest financial return.

Rather than single us out, can you list the English clubs that market themselves in the same way as the club you mention?

They have done that with American sports. Not yet with football.
Anyway renaming them is change which should be embraced, isn't it?

Sad isn't it. Yanks, who, haven't previously supported teams that way, love it whilst we continue to dilute the experience. Unfortunately we have increasing numbers of spectators rather than supporters who don't want those sort of things and don't want others to do them. They would insist in sitting in any area and then moaning about people standing up or smoke drifting across the pitch and causing their little kid health problems. The fact that these things are allowed in America, the home of litigation and suing shows that all the hysteria about smoke bombs being in any way dangerous is bullshit propagated by hysterical fannies.

Quite obviously I'm not as hysterical about renaming as you are.

What baffles me is these constant comparisons to other countries and clubs which are just selective in what they pick out, ignore other issues and are generally made by people who complain about the over Americanisation or fiddling with our history and traditions.

    In summary:
Our owners treat us like ****
Cheaper to watch Barca, Bayern, Dortmund than Hull City.
Discussing shirt prices is pointless, you don't need to wear replica shirts to watch a match.

    Have I missed anything?

I agree that the yanks tend to over think things and its is well over hyped because the standard of football is not that good, but the fans seem to have took to it, they nearly all wear the purple of the club which looks impressive, you have to pay to join the ultras and they have their own stand.

They are also building a new stadium a proper football ground, my point about Allam was, that if he wanted to learn how to get the most publicity for your team, he could do far worse than tap up the Americans, but he knows best doesn't he?

Who is hysterical about the name change? It is a stupid idea supported only by a handful of morons.

Treat your fans well, they'll be queuing up to support you, treat them badly and they'll **** off in their thousands.

We lost 3,000 long standing season ticket holders after our most successful season ever and we'll lose at least another 3,000 this season, it's really quite impressive that one man can do that much damage in the space of a year.

I hope he remembers to include it on his CV.

What baffles me, is that someone can talk utter bollocks, alienate half his customers and some dipshits will defend him as some sort of business genius.

The mud you're chucking could equally be aimed at most football chairmen, or even supporters groups that lose half their members after a name change and wider remit.

There's plenty of proper stuff to criticise, without trying to link other vague issues.

I don't see people defending him, more querying the vagueness of the critical analogies offered.

he is a **** of the highest order based on

    Prices hikes...40% in 2 years
    Name change fiasco
Dropping the name of City on all literature
    Spat with council fiasco
    Airco fiasco
    Calling his customers

Anyone who defends that lot seriously needs to look into the mirror at themselves

    What a ridiculous reply.

I want to see Hull City being a well run club playing under their historic name. I want the chairman and club officials to have some understanding of fans.

I just don't see trying to fill the forum making out all the ills of football are the fault of the Allams as being productive.

Chucking any old ****e at the Allams and hoping some sticks strikes me as a piss poor way of dealing with it, as so many people see straight through it, and it makes it look like their aren't enough genuine reasons to grumble.

The alternative to not chucking **** at the Allams is to accept everything they say and do as being gospel.
It is your choice if you want to accept the gospel.
Me, I can't accept the gospel...so i choose the bits I can accept (£16 matches).

Things dropped because of the Allams:
    Season passes x 2
Shirt purchases (usually get 1 every couple of years)
No purchases (food, programme, half-time draw, scarves etc)

OLM. Everyone knows that you have an all-consuming dislike of everything Allam. Fine - no problem with that, but your strategy of trying to blame everything on him, and this farcical attempt to compare Hull City with Borussia Dortmund, is very weak - even for you!

That's not the only alternative at all, and neither is what's happening on this thread.

Far better to deal with the actual problems, rather than some muck spreader approach.

Where have I tried to blame everything on him? I'm just saying treating fans well is far more productive than treating them with contempt, wouldn't you agree?
