Well our season is now officially over. After a very feisty game where we probably just edged the chances unfortunately we came up short. Not sure on what everyone's thoughts are on the penalty but from where I was (Block J of Medway) it looked to me that both players just ran into each other, I believe Dickenson even going to ground first?

Regardless of the penalty though, I think the game was a pretty accurate summation of how our season went. Worked incredibly hard through out, huffed and puffed and played some good stuff and times but ultimately came up short.

With regards to the trouble today, I am thoroughly disappointed with how the police dealt with it. From where I was sitting, it looked like they were more worried about the Rainham End causing the problems, than the actual Millwall fans who had got into the home ends. I've heard a lot of people talk about their children leaving the ground incredibly scared and quite frankly I'm not surprised. That is certainly the most trouble I've ever seen in the 13 years I have been a supporter and hope that the perpetrators are permanently banned from the ground.

To sum up though, it was a proper derby <cheers>

i listened to the match and there was no mention of any trouble throughout the game,i had to go out as soon as the game finished,,i have now returned and been reading some of the reports and not one mentioned any trouble..which for us is very surprising to say the least. as the slightest of incidents normally makes the headlines. So i am very surprised to read what you have written TBH.

Agree it sounded like a proper derby <cheers>

i truly wish you had made the playoffs <ok>

Think they're trying to hush it up but I well and truly expect both teams suffer severe consequences for the game from the FA.

It was quite an exciting, though ultimately disappointing, match where it was difficult to deny Millwall a deserved win. Even though the territorial occupation was fairly even the best chances fell to Millwall, Nelson made a string of decent saves and the pen was a cert. Everyone around me on the half way line said penalty as soon as Dickenson blundered in.
Turning to the crowd trouble, it was pretty well inevitable that a box full of Millwall supporters and the Millwall wine and diners were going to celebrate when their team scored. The presence of these people was 100% down to Gills mismanagement in taking the money for premium tickets. The anger of Gills fans should have been directed at Scally for his willingness to cash in at the expense of adding insult to home supporters.

At least Mr Scally will have difficulty in bumping the prices for next season!!!!! Any bets on the new manager yet? 2 wins in 3 months...hardly a page one wants in one's cv......

Kent Police have confirmed that 8 arrests were made on Sunday. 3 at the game itself and another 5 arrests after the game near the train station. The police are also pointing the finger at the club for the reason as to why so many Millwall fans managed to get into the home end.

Perhaps Mr.Scally might consider suing the Police for libel, then use the money to strengthen the squad -- because, let's face it -- it was the police that sold the tickets in 'home'sections to the Millwall fans -wasn't it ?
